ENERGY T.I. Diatec Trentino Three block against Vinicius Dos Santos at Mediolanum Forum

Assago (Milan), February 8th, 2015

Two years after winning his third Italian Cup (30 December 2012) at the Mediolanum Assago's Forum, the ENERGY T.I. Diatec Trentino reclaims the lead in the rankings. Tonight the yellow-blue team was successful to take advantage of Modena's absence (now less than one) to regain the top of the list of Super League UnipolSai, thanks to the three points obtained without suffering too much against Revivre Milan. This is the 200th outdoor victory of Trentino Volley in its own history, and perhaps it came in the simplest way of the entire regular season.
The nearly 3,700 spectators present in the Forum Milanese weren't able to intimidate Stoytchev's team that, even with Colaci at half time (with a flexor muscle strain which allowed Stoytchev to use him only during reception; in defence Fedrizzi was well disengaged), confirmed its superiority already recognized on the eve of the thirty-four points higher thus far in ranking than their opponents. With Kaziyski to lead (MVP and best scorer thanks to 15 points and the 68% in attack) and Zygadlo particularly inspired in direction (73% of the team), the Trentino Volley has in fact never suffered the home team's exuberance, which has vanished quickly in each set after a promising start. Birarelli, who celebrated his 34 years old, gave a magnificent performance in all the fundamentals (88% in the first half, three blocks and two aces), imitated by Solé (75% with a block point and an ace); then, under the net Lanza (77%) had a good match, such as Nemec and substitute Nelli (75%) to confirm the team's absolutely positive day, which in fact won easily 3-0 without any discussion, once Dos Santos was controlled by the block.
