Trento, November 27th 2016
The return to PalaTrento after two away matches is very positive for Diatec Trentino, which in just one match has found a SuperLega victory that was missing for two weeks and, thanks for the gained points, has certified its direct qualification to the quarterfinals of 2016 Del Monte® Italian Cup. The dual objective was reached thanks to the victory in five sets versus Gi Group Monza in the match valid for the twelfth round of Unipolsai SuperLega, the penultimate of the first part of the season.
With only two points conquered, Angelo Lorenzetti's team remains in the running for the platonic title of “Winter Champion”, which will be awarded in the sprint with Lube (first in the ranking with two more points) and Modena (third place with one less point), teams which will face each other next Sunday at PalaPanini of Modena.
All the possibilities are therefore still open for Giannelli and teammates, who have been very good this evening at giving their best interpretation in the first part of the match, marked by extremely good performances in attack percentage, and at focusing in the fifth set , after undergoing the angry reaction of the guests between the final third and the fourth set. Stokr's entrance, author of an excellent fifth set, and the consistent performance shown by Solé throughout the race (MVP of the match with 13 points, 80% of attacks and 4 blocks) and Lanza (19 winning points with 58% of attacks) made Diatec Trentino getting to the victory, despite the opponents German spikers Fromm and Hirsh (43 points in two) tried all the way to break the defense of the home team.
