At the beginning of the small cycle of direct matches for the first places on the ranking list, Diatec Trentino conquered immediately three points on Wednesday evening against Verona. Thanks to the 3-0, gained against Verona, the team from Trento can seek with more confidence the solitary second place still to be competed for on Sunday in the away match in Civitanova Marche and on February 19th in the home match against Modena. “We have started in the best way the final rush of our regular season and we’re happy about it – team captain Filippo Lanza admitted at the microphone of Radio Dolomiti at the end of the match - . Overtaking Calzedonia wasn’t simple and, at least in the beginning, we felt a bit of pressure because we wanted to achieve an important result. In fact, during the first set we played imprecisely and unfairly, but we were able anyway to win it quickly. The achievement of 35-33 was fundamental to continue the match because it gave to us more confidence and also because influenced the remaining part of the match of our opponents”. “ It’s true, we failed a lot of services and it’s not the first time – the spiker from Zevio added - , but this is risk that we take with awareness in the tactical approach from time to time in our matches. We knew that in order to win against stronger teams like Verona we needed to push in the fundamental that influence the break phase. We made many errors but at the same time we won, even in three sets: the choice was worth it. Thanks to this result we will be able to play on Sunday on Lube’s court with more conviction and at the same time light-hearted. We know exactly the value of Civitanova, in Coppa Italia gave us a lot of problems, but we really want to do something important: we can do it”. Diatec Trentino got back on training already this afternoon with a weight session for those who played less on Wednesday evening. To prepare for Sunday’s match, remake of the recent final of Del Monte® Coppa Italia 2017, the team will train all together on Friday (double session) and on Saturday morning, before the departure to Marche.
