Applauses, handshakes, thanks and in particular a lot of compliments. The community of the region Trentino, represented by the highest institutional offices of the Autonomous Province, has celebrated this afternoon in the prestigious Sala Belli of Piazza Dante the four players of Trentino Volley who won the silver medal in the recent Olympic Games of Rio 2016. In addition to Oleg Antonov, Massimo Colaci, Simone Giannelli and Filippo Lanza, there are also other athletes from Trentino that have participated in the 31th edition of the Olympic Games of the Modern Era: Francesca Dallapè (diving), Silvano Chesani (athletics, high jump), and Ruggero Tita (sailing, class 49er).
“The whole Province feels a sense of great gratitude towards you; we would therefore like to congratulate you on your commitment – declared President Ugo Rossi who then together with Diego Mosna awarded a souvenir plaque to his athletes. You’re an example to all young people; you brought at the top not only the name of Italy but also that of Trentino, which is the birthplace for some of you and the chosen land for others”.
Thanks to the hard work and the perseverance of the directors and the trainers, you have achieved amazing results – said Tiziano Mellarini, the Alderman for Culture, Cooperation, Sport and Civil Protection -. You ‘ve made more prestigious the sport of this Province by giving us unforgettable feelings. We ask you to help young people with your extraordinary example.”
