Monday night the first 2017 episode of “RTTR Volley”, the weekly magazine by the broadcasting station of via Zanella dedicates to Trentino Volley, has seen the coach Angelo Lorenzetti as special guest. The coach from Fano told Sara Ravanelli some interesting anecdote of his first season in Trento. Here some interesting extracts.
NEW YEAR'S EVE IN TRENTINO. “I spent the last day of 2016 and the first of 2017 with my family on Monte Bondone, Trento's mountain that I already knew because last summer I was there as guest if the Trentino Volley BIG Camp. I felt very good; it was difficult to foretell that I would have spend it here, as the coach of this Club, but I feel lucky to have such an opportunity”.
SUPERLEGA. “In Latina we don't only get back an away full win but also our play continues to improve. We are satisfied with the current second place but it is uncertain because there are four teams in a few points. I am convinced that Civitanova, Perugia and Modena are stronger, but we want to be the surprise of this championship. At the beginning of the season none thought that there will be such a gap between the first four and the others. It is no accident that Lube is at the first place: they have the best figures in the sideout phase and also in the break point phase; they are focused, and the experience of last year taught them something important”.
OPPOSITE. “We have two interchangeable opposite in the starting six: it was a well-pondered decision we took at the beginning of the season and that is important for Trentino Volley. Stokr has a great shape and we are happy of that but we must not forget that Nelli played at high level during the first part of the championship. Gabriele is recovering from an abdominal muscles injury, I think that in a week he will be back”.
TRENTO. “I found new challenges by coming here and I am happy of my choice. I wanted a sabbatical year but this was a special chance: I have very good players with great potential. I can think only at coaching and I hope to deserve the trust that all the team gave me through my work and the results that the players will achieve”.
GOALS. “The goals are set by the calendar; we will play each match to win and then we will focus on the next. In the first games we will play in January there is a match that is more important compared to the others: it is the Coppa Italia quarter finals match we will play on Wednesday 11th at PalaTrento against Monza. All the pressure will be on our shoulders and this will not be a burden for us but an advantage for our opponents who will play without pressure. But we want to go to Bologna. During the first weeks of December we had difficulties to play well but now we are improving our game. We should not rush to reach the top, but obviously the sooner we do this, the better it will be. Our aim is winning, but victory lasts short and we have to start over immediately, without forgetting to enjoy doing what we do. We have to learn to enjoy ourselves by winning”.
