Trento, December 20th 2016

After a season of absence, there will be again next Monday the traditional match of Santo Stefano for Trentino Volley. On December 26th Diatec Trentino will play at PalaTrento against  Kioene Padova in the sixteenth round of  SuperLega UnipolSai 2016/17, which will begin at 6 p.m. Playing on Christmas day has become an enjoyable habit for the Club of via Trener, which has played in the last sixteen seasons on Santo Stefano day already seven times; the average of victories on that day is of five matches played by the Yellow-blue: 3-1 against Verona in 2005, 3-0 against Treviso in 2010, 3-1 in Belluno in 2011, 3-1 against Perugia in 2012 and the most recent one, 3-0 in Monza in 2014. The away matches lost were only two: 1-3 against Modena in 2006 and in Treviso in 2007.
Therefore PalaTrento will host again an official Volleyball match since four years ago being strong thanks to the inviolability in the last three occasions that had by its side a wonderful audience: more than 4.000 people against Verona (2005) and Treviso (2010), 3.700 against  Perugia (2012).
For this occasion Trentino Volley will play the 682nd official match and will try to achieve the 291st victory in regular season, the 475th of its history. The very first one was achieved in a home match against Padova already sixteen years and two month ago: it was October 22nd 2000 and the then Diatec Trentino won against European Padova at tie break from behind, from 0-2 to 3-2. Curiously the two coaches who were protagonist of the last match at PalaTrento (Bruno Bagnoli in Trento, Angelo Lorenzetti in that of Veneto) sit on the bench and one of the referees of the match was Gianni Bartolini of Firenze, who will guide as well the match scheduled on Monday.
