Trento, July 20th, 2016
After the one of Stokr, the summer session’s market of Trentino Volley gives another important and great return. A few hours after the official conclusion of the incoming and outgoing transactions, the Company of via Trener has in fact also affiliated Matteo Burgsthaler.
The thirty-five middle-blocker, launched and became established at high levels precisely with the team’s jersey of his city, is part of the roster of Diatec Trentino after only one year of separation spent in Milan. With his arrival the department of the middle-blockers provision of Angelo Lorenzetti will rely on four absolute value players with complementary characteristics. To "Burghy", which with Trentino Volley has racked up eight titles to the Championship in 2013 as a protagonist and a total of 124 appearances in the field, will be asked to provide the usual great contribution in terms of experience, human quality and professionalism.
The one that will take off in the first half of August will be for Burgsthaler the sixth season with Trentino Volley; the first dates back to 2000/01 (the debut year of the Club), when very young, played the role of a second opposite behind Leondino Giombini.
"It's good to be back because managers and coaches have made you feel important for this type of project; to know that you can still be useful to this cause motivates me a lot and reward me at the same time. This is was I was looking for to keep playing at this level”- were the first words of Matteo Burgsthaler back as Trentino Volley player-. “I put at the disposal my experience, working hard and offering advice to those who require it to me; I will be the oldest player in the team and I think it was the right time to accept this kind of role”.
“It’s with great pleasure that we welcome back Matteo Burgsthaler in our Society” - smiled the President Diego Mosna -.”He is a player who, for many reasons, we particularly care about; I am sure that his professional qualities, human and technical resources will be an added value for the whole team."
Unlike in the past, Burgsthaler no longer wear the jersey number 17 (which will remain on the shoulders of Urnaut) but the number 3, which will remind him that the one just started is the third chapter of his career with Trento, after the 2000/01 and 2011/15 periods.
