Apart from the libero De Pandis, another player, that in the previous season wore the shirt of Molfetta, will enter the 2017/18 team of Trentino Volley: the twenty four years old Pier Paolo Partenio. He will be the alternative substitute of Simone Giannelli as setter.
The Yellow-blue Club has in fact chosen the player from Marche to complete its roster in this delicate position, deciding to bet therefore on a couple of young setters with room for growth but also undeniable value. Partenio grew inside Lube, with whom he won three Youth Championships and made his first steps into Serie A1. He has a lot of experience thanks to the several Championships he has played being at the back of players such De Cecco, Travica and Thiago but also thanks to the two tournaments played as protagonist in Serie A2 with Potenza Picena, with whom he gained the promotion in 2014/15. In Trento he will meet again Oreste Cavuto, with whom he has played in Marche the second Italian Championship, and Filippo Lanza, team mate in the National Team during the Mediterranean games 2013.
“Between the end of May and the beginning of June I’ve participated to the trainings of Trentino Volley that organised for its Under 24 athletes at PalaTrento and I was able to experience and see how this Club is organised and pays attention to the young people’s growth – Pier Paolo Partenio explained - . As soon as I received the offer by the Yellow-blue managers I accepted immediately with enthusiasm because I believe that I can improve following the lead of Lorenzetti and the support of the Club, acknowledged at international level. I like to play fast and use my fantasy, two qualities that make me similar to Simone Giannelli. Its really beautiful knowing that Trentino Volley will bet on players so young in such delicate position. I’m ready to offer my contribution every day in the gym”.
“Partenio is a physical setter, similar to Giannelli – the coach Angelo Lorenzetti has confirmed - . He prefers speed and he is capable of finding quickly understanding with the attackers. He is quite a good experience, considering that in 2015 he has won the Championship of Serie A2 as official players with Potenza Picena. Working hard everyday in the gym he will be able to grow even more, improve in some aspects and therefore be useful to the team during the trainings and the matches”.
Partenio has signed the yearly contract and will be available from the team’s round up scheduled for mid August. He will be the player number 15.
