Amazing clash over the net between Hierrezuelo and Antonov in the test match at PalaBanca (one week ago)

After nearly forty days of preparation, mainly spent at PalaTrento, it’s time for Angelo Lorenzetti’s Diatec Trentino to compete for the first seasonal test match in front of its own spectators. Tomorrow in the evening, Wednesday 14th September, from 6 p.m. Lanza and his team mates will test their condition against LPR Piacenza during a “return friendly match” after the one played seven days ago at PalaBanca and won 3-1 by the yellow-blue team (20-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-20). The match – non official and during the normal training time – will be with free admission and will give the occasion to look back at the work done so far, with a view to the semi-final of Del Monte Italian Super Cup 2016 (at PalaPanini, on September 24th). Less than two weeks before the preliminary match against Modena, the technical staff could gather further feedbacks, launching a second part of the sixth week of preparation, which will be characterized by the “Trofeo Città di Villafranca” (on Saturday and Sunday). “We have more trainings in our legs as compared to seven days ago in Emilia so we expect a better harmony between the setter and the rest of the team – says Assistant Coach Dario Simoni - . This friendly match, as the ones we will play in the forthcoming weekend, will be useful not only for issues closely connected to the team’s chemistry, but also to test the condition of the five players fresh from the 2016 Olympics at Rio”. As for the previous test, Diatec Trentino will do only without Simon Van de Voorde (playing with the National team) and for the first time in this pre-championship, the team could line the Captain Filippo Lanza in zone 4 up (not arranged last Wednesday). LRP will arrive in Trento with a greater game autonomy in the legs; after the home defeat against Trento, Alberto Giuliani’s team played a further friendly match on Saturday afternoon against Modena, winning 3-1 against the Italian Champions. The red-and-white sextet should be similar to the one saw on September 7th, with the diagonals Hierrezuelo-Hernandez, Clevenot-Marshall, Alletti-Yosifov and the libero Manià. The match will be recounted real time on www.trentinovolley.it: the official website of the Club in via Trener will offer on its home page the live point-to-point and the report of every set, just a few seconds after its conclusion.
