Betim (Brazil), October 22th 2016

Trentino Volley is again one of the four best World teams since the last time three years ago. After winning for four times in a row in Doha, between 2009 and 2012, and the third place in  Betim in 2013, the Club achieves the goal to qualify itself, as first in the Pool B, to the semifinal of the Club World Championship 2016 – scheduled this evening at 10 p.m. Italian time.  The rival team will be once again Zenit Kazan (qualified as second in the Pool A), in a remake of 2016 Champions League final in Krakow but also of the 2011 and 2012 semifinals played in Doha.
Angelo Loremzetti's team with the certainty of the semifinal, thanks to the set lost by Bolivar against Minas, played with more equanimity but showed to have deserved the sixth international semifinal of its history. In fact Lanza and his teammates have won the three matches they played in the first phase; after Minas and Bolivar, in this case UPCN San Juan gave up 3-0, efficient in the first set when it has gone for a broke to achieve the qualification. The firts set has been won thanks to Van de Voorde and Solé, then everything was easy for Diatec Trentino that took the lead with Stokr very efficient and Giannelli setting the ball for him in the second set. In the third set the players who hadn't played yet were involved in the rotation, like Nelli who showed to be a good alternative in area 1 and 2. Top scorer for Diatec Trentino are Urnaut and Stokr (the only ones with double figures) but the most interesting figures comes from reception and from the two regual player of area 3 (Van de Voorde 75%, Solé 78% in attack).

Here is the scoresheet of the third match of Pool B played this evening at Ginasio Poliesportivo Divino Braga in Betim.
