The Word Grand Champions Cup 2017 will start on Tuesday 12th September In Nagoya (Japan), an event organised by FIVB, in which some of the strongest national teams of the world, representing Asia, Europe, U.S.A and South America, will compete.
From 12th to 17th, 6 teams (Brasil, United States, Japan, France, Iran and the wild card Italy) will take part in a robin-round (a one-way Italian round), which will directly determine the final league table of the tournament. Three players of Trentino Volley will play in Japan, the same ones that have just played in Poland: the setter Simone Giannelli, the spiker Filippo Lanza and the opposite Luca Vettori; all of them, according to Gianlorenzo Blengini, will be among the 14 of the roster. After the elimination, during the quarter-finals with Belgium in the continental tournament, the Italians will play in Nagoya and Osaka in order to achieve a prestigious score that will put an end to the Italian summer in the best possible way. The debut will be on Tuesday morning at 8:40 AM (Italian local time) versus Iran.
