The march of Diatec Trentino in regular season of Unipolsai SuperLeague 2016/17 suffers a setback at PalaBanca of Piacenza. In the rescheduled match of the 5th turn of regular season played tonight, the yellow-blue team has had to deal with the first defeat of the season, losing for 1-3 versus the hosting team of LPR Piacenza. The three sets knockout does not compromise in any case the leading of the ranking, which had already been obtained last Sunday thanks to the victory versus Lube, but doesn't even allow Lorenzetti's men to get that further leap forward from the firsts competitors. After a first well played set both in attack and defense phases, Lanza and teammates have gradually turned playing bad and struggling to contain the Cuban diagonal Hierrezuelo-Hernandez, with the setter rightly awarded as MVP for having been able to give few references to the opponent's block (which scored only 8 times), and Hernandez having been unstoppable in attack (55%) and service, for a overall of 28 personal scored points. The manifested difficulties in reception didn't allow Giannelli to use his usually fast gameplay, but Daniele Mazzone (80% of attacks) and Van de Voorde (10 scored points with 55% of attacks and 4 block) have proven to be in a great condition. Less continuous has been the performance of the trio composed by the two spikers and the opposite, who Lorenzetti has often had to modify by finding effective answers only in Urnaut (best scorer of Diatec Trentino with 13 points), Lanza (61% of attacks) and Stokr.
