Italian Champions during the cooking show in Cesare Battisti Place (Trento)

The Italian champions of volleyball are also excellent chefs. This what emerged at the end of "Cooking with the Stars", staged in the late afternoon in Piazza Cesare Battisti for the 1st Festival of Trentino Wine.
The event’s opening date, which will animate the center of Trento up to September 27th, was a great success and attract in Piazza Cesare Battisti (renamed for the occasion Flavours’ Square) over a hundred onlookers, who could admire Trentino Volley players struggling with the preparation of a typical dish of the local tradition but slightly revised: potato dumplings in yellow-blue version, thanks to the use of purple potatoes and saffron. The challenge between the cuisine offered by the couple Djuric-De Angelis and the one of Mazzone-Nelli was won by the last two; thanks also to the collaboration of chef Federico Parolari of Osteria "Due Spade", the proposed dish was considered better than the one of the two teammates by a jury which included well-known local faces: the mayor of Trento Alessandro Andreatta and Luca Giuliani (President of Agriculture Commission of the Autonomous Province of Trento), Sabrina Dorigoni, representing the official partner Dorigoni Auto, and journalists Erica Ferro (Corriere del Trentino), Manuel Codignoni (Regional RAI 3), Maurizio Di Giangiacomo and Nicola Baldo (Trentino).
The Yellow-blues has confirmed champions of sympathy as well, proving to be able to play the game even when they had to explain their way of cooking, or simply when they accepted the verdict of the jury. From tomorrow morning though, they will be back at PalaTrento to prepare for the 2015/16 season, where they inevitably feel more comfortable.
