Trento, 21th November 2016

After playing eighteen games in forty-nine days, particularly ten matches in the last twenty-five days, finally it is time to catch a break for Diatec Trentino. The period that starts today is the first, after the return from Brazil, without mid-week matches for the yellow-blue, who will be back on the court only on Sunday 27th November, playing a home match against Gi Group Monza for the eleventh week of the regular season in SuperLeague UnipolSai.
The technical staff took advantage to give two days off to the team after the match of Modena; on Wednesday 23th November the yellow-blue will be back at PalaTrento with a double training session. Weight and individual technique in the morning and tecnique and tactics for the whole group in the late afternoon will launch the period of preparation to the final sprint of the first round.
With two matches before the halfway point, Diatec Trentino wants to finish at the best place possible because of the Del Monte® Coppa Italia 2017, that will take account of the places of the first twelve teams at the 13th week. Finishing in the first four places will guaratee to Lanza and his teammates to reach directly the quarterfinals, avoiding the qualifying heats for the other eight teams.
In the next appointments for Trentino Volley, currently at the second place with one point less than the league leader Civitanova and two more than the third place of Modena, are not scheduled matches against direct competitors but there will be two difficult games; after the home match against Monza (7th place), Diatec Trentino will play an hard away match against Molfetta (4th  December).
To ensure one of the first four places in the league, the yellow-blue must gain at least one point, avoiding that Piacenza (now at the fourth place, but with Perugia that could pass it over  by winning against Latina in the rescheduled match) could fill the currently six points gap. Trento is in the running for finishing the first round as league leader; this will see a sprint for three with Lube and Modena who have to play against each other in the last week at PalaPanini. Next Sunday Civitanova will play an home match against Molfetta, while Azimut will play in Piacenza.
