It will be played tomorrow, Sunday, April 3rd, from 5.30 pm at PalaTrento, the fifth and decisive game of the series quarter-final playoffs Championship UnipolSai 2016 between Diatec Trentino and Exprivia Molfetta. A week after Game 4, which reported in a draw the fate of the comparison, we are back on the field for Game 5, which will award the winner to access the semi-final, to be played against Modena. Broadcasted live on Rai Sport 1 TV and on Radio Dolomiti.
HERE DIATEC TRENTINO The Italian champions are facing the biggest game of their Italian season: to continue defending the title that lead on their jerseys in fact, they need a victory by any score, which would allow to enter the eighth semi-final playoffs in the last nine years. To play this shoot-off in PalaTrento, where during this season there have been sixteen victories in nineteen races, will be an advantage to be exploited to the maximum.
"It's been a very complicated, very difficult series, for so many reasons but we knew it was going to be like that because Molfetta this season has put us in constant trouble”- explained the coach of Trentino Volley Radostin Stoytchev during the match’s presentation. -”We arrived in Game 5 and we have to play it to the best of our ability by putting behind all the problems we had in the last period. Difficult to predict what will happen because events like this can reserve any type of situation, but from personal experience I believe that will win those who will express the best volleyball; this week we worked hard to be the ones to do it”.
The Bulgarian technician will be without the opposite Gabriele Nelli (out for a bruising on his left thigh remedied in the match of Champions in Belgorod) but will recover the second libero Carlo De Angelis, reunited with the group in recent days. The preparation of the match will be completed between workouts in PalaTrento tonight and tomorrow morning.
PREVIOUSLY Tomorrow will be played the fifteenth official comparison (the ninth of this season) between Trentino Volley and Volley Molfetta, challenge with recent origins but already very significant; in archives, in addition to six regular-season games played between 2013 and 2016, there are in fact six matches of the quarterfinals of the playoffs Championship (2015 edition and the current one) and two of the quarterfinals of the Italian Cup in 2016. The budget smiles at the Club of President Mosna for 9-5, but the seasonal one is perfectly equal (4-4). At PalaTrento were seven the official previous matches: six victories for Trento (all for 3-0 - the last one on March 19th in Game 3) and one outer statement, but fairly recent: 2-3 on January 14th, 2016 in the second leg of quarterfinals of the Italian Cup final.
SERIES Trento and Molfetta are 2-2 in the series of quarter-final playoffs Championship UnipolSai 2016 which ends tomorrow night, by virtue of the 3-0 accrued at PalaTrento in Game 1 on March 10th, with partial 25-21, 25-15, 25-20, of the defeat suffered in Puglia for 1-3 (21-25, 24-26, 25-18, 14-25) on March 13th, the new 3-0 ( 25-16, 32-30, 25-17) got in PalaTrento on March 19th and of the 1-3 on Easter day recorded at PalaPoli (25-22, 21-25, 20-25, 19-25). These results necessitated the fifth and decisive playoff race. Those who exceed the turn, will be in the semifinal series (best of five games, the first is already scheduled for Saturday April 9th) DHL Modena, who overcame Padova for 3-1. In the upper part of the draw Civitanova (3-0 over Latina) awaits the playoff match on Wednesday between Verona and Perugia to find out which team to challenge.
REFEREES The race will be directed by Giorgio Gnani (first referee of Ferrara, in role by 1997 and internationally since 2009) and Gianni Bartolini, second whistle of Florence, in Serie A since 1992 and internationally since 2006. The two are in their first joint season game in Super League UnipolSai 2015/16, the fifteenth for Gnani (who this season already arbitrated Molfetta vs. Trento, concluded for 0-3 on December 22nd - the first leg of quarterfinals of the Italian Cup), the fourteenth for Bartolini, who crossed Trento in this league only during the 3-0 home victory over Perugia (on January 23rd, 2016).
TV, RADIO AND INTERNET Molfetta-Trento will be a global media event, broadcasted live on any type of media. On television will be broadcast by RAI Sport 1, visible on the digital terrestrial platform and on Sky on channel 227, with comment entrusted to Maurizio Colantoni and Claudio Galli. The tickets will be available also on Sunday at the box office of PalaTrento, active starting at 3.30 pm and at 4.30 pm the entrances of the building will be opened.
