Diatec Trentino gets back to work since this morning to prepare for the opening of the 2017 Championship Play Off against Sir Safety Conad Perugia. It will start on Sunday March 19th at PalaTrento with match 1 (it will start at 6.30 p.m.).
After a day of rest, the yellow-blue start again the trainings with a double session: weights and individual techniques in the morning and , team tactical exercises in the evening. Before the second session schedules today, the coach, Mr Angelo Lorenzetti and the team captain Filippo Lanza met the media to present the important appointment.
“This will be a competitive round – the coaches of Diatec Trentino said, at the eighth championship semi final of its career - ; we are very enthusiastic. We are aware of the opponent’s but we also want to show what we are capable of. Perugia has grown a lot since the beginning of the year but also Trento has had a positive pathway. The setters might be the key players of the match because they touch the ball more than others and also because with their tactical decisions they can have an impact on the opponent’s lacks and help their attackers”.” We have good memories about the last time we played against Perugia in the championship semi-finals, but this time all will be different – admitted instead Lanza thinking about 2015 championship, won 2-1 versus the team from Umbria - . It has not been easy to arrive at this round of the Play-off but we deserve what we achieved since we’ve worked very hard during the whole season. We would like to prove that we are not here just by luck and we will have the chance to win the trophy. It will be a high-quality series, a great show for every volleyball fan, especially because of the presence of many athletes of the Italian national team”. Match 1 will have a great importance for Lanza who will play the 92nd match as Trentino Volley’s captain (with 214 played match with the yellow-blue kit), overcoming Emanuele Birarelli himself, who played 91 matches as captain and will be an opponent in next match versus Perugia. Only Matey Kaziyski achieved more matches played as captain of the team than Lanza (captain for 204 times).
