After his arrival in our city and his first time in Palatrento on Wednesday afternoon, this morning the new middle hitter Eder Carbonera has met the local media, to which he has been presented by Trentino Volley in the prestigious trophy room in the building of via Traner.
“I can't wait to start training with this team, I'm really excited for the opportunity Trento has offered me” said the Brazilian player (born in 1983, 205 cm), almost surprised by the presence of so many reporters. “It will be amazing for me to work with such a great coach, Angelo Lorenzetti, whose abilities are recognized throughout the world. This will give me the opportunity to improve myself. I have never played far away from Brazil before, because I've always received big opportunities by the big teams of my country. I accepted to move so far only because of such a top-notch team that is Diatec Trentino. I chose it among the many opportunities I've received this summer. I always want to fight for big goals and I know I can do it here, also because I will be lucky enough to play with great athletes like Gianelli, Lanza and Vettori, against whom I already played with the National team. The Italian SuperLega is more competitive than the Brazilian championship, and that's because here there are six or seven particularly strong teams, so it is necessary to fight hard at every round if you want to win. Not to mention the Kazan and the many other European teams we will have to play against during the Champions League. And furthermore, beyond all the agonistic reasons, I'm really happy to live this experience with my wife: Italy is such an amazing country and I will try and visit it as much as possible in my free time”.
“Eder Carbonera is very different from all the other players we've signed this summer” said the General Manager Bruno Da Re. “ He's very skilled, he is already at the top, but his human and technical characteristics are perfect for our new shortlist. He's very strong on offense and on blocking, he has a really efficient jump serve, all abilities that will be very useful for the team, as well as the experience that he gained during the last years. The choice to sign only a one-year-long contract has been made in order to respect him, a player that is living his first season far away from Brazil.
