Trento, April 8th 2017

After two weeks of rest in order to give space to the European Cups, 2017 UnipolSai Championship semifinal Play off comes back and Diatec Trentino will play against Sir Safety Conad Perugia. The Championship will start against with the 1-1 of the two first matches; on Sunday April 9th the team from Trento will play Match 3 at home. The appointment will start at PalaTrento at 6 p.m.: tv live on RAI Sport + HD and Radio Dolomiti.
Here Diatec Trentino After gaining the qualification to CEV Cup final last week, the team can focus again on this weekend and the semifinal against Perugia, which will be on Sunday at a fundamental crossroad. After the home victories conquered in the first two matches, the team that wins this match will have the possibility of having two chances, match 4 and 5, the round positively. Diatec Trentino wants to be again in advantage and in order to do so it will rely on PalaTrento record (that hasn't been broken for less than a year – last home defeat on April 25th 2016) and the 4 thousand spectators that will support the team in that occasion (all sold out since Thursday evening).
I hope that it will be a match with equilibrium in which our team will be able to start better than the previous home matches against Perugia – the Yellow-blue coach Angelo Lorenzetti explained - . This season Sir Safety Conad has always been the protagonist at the beginning of the home matches,  we will need technic and determination to avoid this. We’ll have to be aggressive at the beginning of the match. Last week CEV Cup match didn’t take from us and didn’t give us nothing we already had; we really want to get back on court and work hard”. On this occasion the coach from Marche will rely on the spiker Oleg Antonov, who trained regularly with the team during this week, and will count on the entire group of players.
Five victories and one defeat in the previous matches 3 semifinals Trentino Volley has already played six times (out of fifteen total matches) match 3 of Championship Play Off semifinal, gaining five victories and one defeat. The victories were conquered for 3-1 in 2006 series against Treviso, for 3-1 in 2009 series against Cuneo, for 3-0 in 2011 against Modena, for 3-2 in 2015 just against Perugia and for 3-1 gained in Modena in 2016; the only defeat was in a home match for 0-3 against Lube in 2010. According to figures, the match on Sunday will be the 49th seasonal match for the Yellow-blue ( 37 victories and 11 defeats), the 708 official match so far, the 98 in Championship Play Off, with 61 victories of which 39 (out of 51 played marches) were won at PalaTrento.
The opponents Sir Safety Conad Perugia will play at PalaTrento since three weeks ago, when it played match 1, without Russell (he ended the season ), maybe with Birarelli (not in the best shape after a small injury of the last period). It will play with confidence thanks to the victory gained on March 25th in match 2 in Umbria. Berger and Buti, used by coach Bernardi regularly during the last match of the round, have in fact confirmed their reliability with achievement of the 3-1 at PalaEvangelisti.  On the contrary, in the last period the Red Devils haven’t played an official match as Diatec Trentino, keeping at a high level its rhythm thanks to a friendly match won for 3-2 in Forlì against Bunge Ravenna. About 400 supporters will follow the team in its third away match of Championship Play Off, as it happened in match 1, and will sit in the curva est of PalaTrento.
The precedents
On Sunday there will be the eighteenth official match between the two Clubs, which began late to play against each other (the first match dates 7th November 2011) but already have had significant moments; they have already played a championship’s semi-final (2015’s edition, yellow-blue victory for 2-1), a semi-final and a quarterfinal of Coppa Italia (2015’s and 2013’s editions). In all these cases Trentino Volley has always won, the same for the total calculation of the matches played, 12-5. At PalaTrento the home team has won eight out of nine matches; the only victory of Perugia dates 16th March 2014 (1-3 in regular season). Two victories for both sides in this season: victory for Trento in four sets on October 29th and on March 19th at PalaTrento; victories for 3-0 (on January 15th) and 3-1 (on March 25th) for Perugia at PalaEvangelisti.
