In anticipation of the first training session with the entire team (possible only from next week when all the players involved with the national will be back in Trento), the 2015/16 shortlist of Diatec Trentino Champion of Italy has already established a record in the history of Trentino Volley.
Radostin Stoytchev and Dario Simoni for the competitive year that will officially open on October 24th at Palapanini Modena, have at their disposal a group by far with the youngest average age and the highest average height of the sixteen seasons played by Trentino Volley in the top level national volleyball.
Previously any yellow-blue squad had in fact an average age of 24,00 years and 200,2 cm in height; characteristics that make the new Diatec Trentino a very physical team, especially powerful and capable of sustaining a hectic schedule of appointments, as the one that awaits the Italian Champions in the first two months of the season (18 games). These datas have a significant impact first for the choice of relying on young players (the "eldest" one is Colaci, who is only 30 years old, while Giannelli and De Angelis are still "teenagers") and second for the opportunity to rely on the real "towers" as Djuric (211 cm), Van de Voorde (208), Daniele Mazzone (207) and Nelli (205), who manage to make it seem "small" players like Urnaut or Sole’, who are slightly over 2 meters.
Before the current one, the youngest shortlist was in 2008/09 season, which won the first CEV Champions League of trentino history (average age 25,5 years), while the highest was represented by the roster 2003 / 04, that won the first place in the regular season thanks to 217 cm height of Kazakov - Trentino Volley’s highest player of all time.
The shortest instead was Horacio Del Federico (second setter between 2000 and 2002 to 178 cm height), while the oldest athlete to play with the Club of via Trener, was Davide Sanguanini: spiker and libero -if necessary-, 39 years old in 2002/03 season.
