Trento, March 19th, 2015

On Saturday, March 21st starting at 5:30pm in PalaPanini, the battle for the top of the league in the regular-season of SuperLega UnipolSai 2014/15 will be hosted. The front teams of  Modena and Trento, which are the only two teams during the first 24 league matches that have held the first solo ranking while alternating it at the same time. They have received the highest scores in the Regular season: except for a ko on November 1st in Verona, the ENERGY TI Diatec Trentino in its 20 league games has always maintained a distance towards its ranking, as the Parmareggio did not raise the ranking only at the defeat of 0-3 on December 21st, in PalaTrento and in Latina during the last round (1-3).
Statistics show, the so-called “A22 derby” will be decided between serves and blocks, which are  fundamental values for scoring that both teams excel in. Modena is in fact the one team that has achieved so far the largest number of aces (144 in 22 games); Trento has 25 less (119) but its average per set is still very high (1.59 against 1.97 of Geminiani). Individually, the most effective players of the two teams with the service are Nemec and Kaziyski, (32 ace upside, fifth place in the ranking of specific performance), Bruninho (30) and Vettori (27) on the other. The weighted average in basic attribute is Birarelli (2nd), Zygadlo (3rd) and Solé (5th) over the same Brazilian director (14th). The Argentine is also one of the main protagonists for blocks (third with 58 points direct), where the Trentino Volley has registered a total of 225 blocks and ranks just behind Treia (245) and Verona (227); Modena is more distinct (7th 187) although it can count on Matteo Piano, the fifth blocker in the tournament with 52 points. The challenge continues to grow, where Colaci ranks second in the weighted average ahead of a few tenths of a point to Ngapeth (5th) and his counterpart Rossini (6th).
The match on Saturday (broadcasted live on RAI Sport 1 and Radio Dolomiti) promises performance from all perspectives and will decide the "round numbers" in the history of their duel. PalaPanini will host the 50th official match between Modena and Trentino Volley: officially there are 49 previously played games; 29 in the regular season, 17 in playoff championships  and 3 in the Italian Cup, with favorable scores for the Club on Via Trener (29-20), losing four of the last five games. The recent win for Stoytchev team,  was in fact the 3-0 in the first leg of that match. Historically the games Trentino played in PalaPanini and conquered in the past ten times, you must return to the November 27th, 2013 win of 3-0 in regular season.
