Trento, January 21st, 2016
Champions Italy back to work this morning at PalaTrento. Afterwards a day of rest, after the 3-0 achieved at home against Paok Thessaloniki, the Italian champions have resumed training to start preparing the next official engagements that within ten days, will see them playing in three particularly important matches.
The most difficult is without a doubt the one of Saturday evening at PalaTrento against Sir Safety Conad Perugia: at 8.30 pm Lanza and his teammates will challenge a direct competitor to the top of the league, delayed by one point from the third place occupied by Diatec Trentino. In preparation, Stoytchev and Simoni have scheduled a double session today (weights in the morning and technical in the evening), a single workout on Friday afternoon and the usual final part on Saturday morning.
On Sunday evening, the team will then travel to Belgium - where on Tuesday 26th will play at Maaseik home the match valid for the last day of the Pool C of 2016 DenizBank CEV Volleyball Champions League - and then return to Trento on Wednesday and the day after will begin the preparation for the next trip to Piacenza on January 31st.
The match of Saturday (pre sale tickets active at the Trentino Volley Point, Promoevent and on internet (http://www.vivaticket.it/index.php?nvpg[evento]&id_show=80517) will see Perugia back to Trento for the first time for the former Emanuele Birarelli, athlete who has written the history of this club over the past eight years, winning all 16 trophies that Trentino Volley boasts in its wall and putting together 345 admissions and 2,539 points. These numbers have made it by far the most-capped player in the history of the club (he played 54% of all official competitions of the Company) and the third bomber of all time behind Juantorena (2,662 winning balls) and Kaziyski (4,812). Trentino Volley will thank him publicly for what was done for the yellow and blue colors in the pre-match with a plaque and with the huge applause of his supporters.
