With the great victory of Saturday night at PalaTrento against Perugia, Diatec Trentino closed in a positive way a seven-day period, in which it won the bronze medal in the Club World Championship in Brazil and then immediately after the return in Italy, two wins in a row in the SuperLeague UnipolSai.
The victory against Sir Safety Conad does not end the tour de force for the Trentino Volley's players in this period; Tuesday evening is scheduled another away match against Bunge Ravenna, big surprise of the championship so far.
Before thinking at the next challenge in Romagna, the captain of Diatec Trentino Filippo Lanza thinks back to the great 3-1 win against one of the team tipped to win the championship. “Against Perugia we started too much contracted, also because the rival team used well the service to put us under pressure – explained Pippo - ; then a little at a time we get back to the surface because we are longing to win, and this made the difference. All this is due mainly to our growth in two fundamentals like reception and defence, in which determination is essential. We succeded in dropping the percentage of their spikers, removing their certainty. In order to win matches like this we can not bring the match on a physical or technical level; we need to count on other weapons like heart. It was so that we built our exciting night”.
“I love the energy that PalaTrento gives us when it is full to bursting like Saturday – continued Lanza - ; it gaves us a great support and I would like it will always be so because it makes the difference. I hope that our supporters contue to be our seventh player during the next home games; in this case we can leveling the playing field against everyone. Tuesday we will play an away match against Ravenna and we have to try to find new energy and concentration to look for another victory against a team that already showed they sell life dearly, especially when they play at home. It will be harmful to lower concentration after a match like that of Saturday against Perugia. I think that the match at Pala De Andrè is the more difficult of the three matches after our comeback from Brazil”.
To leave nothing up to chance for this match, the team has come back to work today in the late afternoon, a few hours in the gym at PalaTrento. Monday evening, after the training with the ball, the departure for Romagna.
