Simone Giannelli, just returned from 2017 European Championship in Poland,  dropped by PalaTrento today and met his new teammates, before a training session with weights.
He will return to train with Italian team on Thursday morning, in order to prepare the 2017 Grand Champions Cup (in Japan, September 12-17). “it’s hard for me to stay away from the gym - he said to Trentino Volley-. I’ve just returned from Poland but I wanted to meet my teammates: some I already know, with the others we’ll have plenty of time to get to know each other. This European Championship left me some good experience and some great moments with the team; I am sorry for the result, but at the same time we are proud of the group we built. Losing against Belgium still hurts”.
“Coach Lorenzetti and I haven’t just talked about volleyball - went on the young setter- we hadn’t seen each other in a while and it’s nice to talk together. Until the Grand Champions Cup I’ll stay focused on the National team, then it’s going to be 100% Trentino Volley. In Japan we want to play at the same level with each team, but let’s not talk about redemption.  In the meanwhile I want to thanks all the fans: so many of you followed us on tv during the EC.. see you soon in PalaTrento!”.
