Urnaut and Konecny, amazing duel on the net

Tours (France), December 16th, 2015

After five beautiful and very important victories in a row between Super League and CEV Champions League, Trentino Diatec has to deal with a setback. The Italian champions this evening in France were defeated at the tie-break on the field of Tours in the fourth round of the Pool C of 2016 CEV Volleyball Champions DenizBank, which calls into question the direct qualification to the Playoffs 12 (automatically guaranteed only to the first classified).
The first reverse of the European season arrived at the end of a match where the Yellow-blues have apparently accused the fatigue of a compressed schedule that will not end until December 22th. However, the point scored on French field, thanks to another attempt to an unsuccessful comeback (1-2 to 2-2), has an important value because it allows Lanza and his teammates to stay in front of two lengths compared to Tours with equal victories (three each of them). After a good start, with the first set pretty much perfect, Trentino Diatec suffered a long void passage between the second and third set when they did too many mistakes in attack and at the service. The generous rise implemented as early as the end of the third period, which has been lost during the advantages, however, has shown how the Yellow-blue team was still alive and able to lead the challenge to the tie-break, then lost for 10-15. Among the bright spots to point out the important contribution which came from the bench, with Stoytchev who found ready answers to Bratoev (in the control room continuously from the third onwards), Lanza (initially not in starting six in favour of Antonov but then he scored ten times with 53%), Van de Voorde (3 blocks) and Nelli, good protagonist from the fourth set instead of Djuric. In field of the Trentino, the best in each case was Sebastian Solé: 14 personal points, 67% up front and 6 blocks.
