"The new format that CEV has adopted for the Champions League for two season until now presents some Main Phase rounds already very competitive – explained Angelo Lorenzetti commenting the outcome of this afternoon draw in Moscow - ; we have then the chance to immediately play versus strong teams and we’re looking forward to begin also because we would like to start a better path than the one we started in championship. Pool E, in which we were inserted, present high-level teams like Izmir, which already obtained in the past the qualification to the Final Four and is very expert, but also like Maaseik and Kedzierzyn-Kozle, which participate from years to this competition and will make of their European adventure one of their biggest goals in their season. The two initial away matches will allow us to immediately immerse us in the tournament climate and will make us understand what will be the difficulties we’re going to face, but we will think about one match at a time; three important SuperLega matches are waiting for us before the Champions League”.
“The draw gave me a big gift, the one of being able to face for the first time as an opponent my father Glenn’s team, Arkas Izmir, of which he is the coach – explained instead Nicholas Hoag - . It will be a special circumstance but when I enter the field I usually only think about the victory and then I will find no compromises either in this case even if obtaining a victory won’t be easy for sure. I know very well the value of the Turkish team and my father knows myself better than I do! Pool E? A difficult round but within our reach: we have good chances of passing the turn”.
