Angelo Lorenzetti, first season on Trentino Volley beanch

This afternoon has officially begun the seventh world adventure for Trentino Volley. At about 4 p.m., the 21 members of the yellow-blue group went by bus from PalaTrento to Malpensa Airport: they will fly to São Paulo and then they will take another flight to Belo Horizonte. The team will arrive to South America late tomorrow morning and on Tuesday it will begin to train in the gym.
“We’re ready to take part in this competition to the best of our current possibilities – explained trainer Angelo Lorenzetti to the press before leaving -. The team is physically okay and is starting to understand my way of playing. We don’t have time to improve during the trainings; there’s only space for playing and we have to rely just on what we developed so far in the gym. Our objective is to play against Sada Cruzeiro or Zenit Kazan, which are two of the world’s best teams, and understand our level of play compared to them. We could reach this goal only by getting the qualification to the semi-finals of the world tournament, and this is what we’re aiming at. I’m personally curious to participate in this event; I’ve heard about it for years, but I want to underline the fact that I’m going to Brazil for merits of others, and so I thank who gave Trentino Volley the possibility of taking part in the Club World Championship one more time”.
“Our pool is far from simple – added the trainer of Diatec Trentino -. Minas Tenis Clube has many talented alternatives in his team in attack: we will need to be able to control it, but it won’t be easy. Bolivar and UPCN play very intensively; the first one relies on the power of its opposite, the Australian Edgar, while the second one plays in a typical South American way which is based on excellent percentages in side-out and on a great defensive intensity with setter Vermiglio who knows how to set perfect balls. And we are a team that has a great block, but we still need to find more continuity in reception, although I realize that nowadays it is harder because some jump servers don’t allow you to have it”.
