Trento, February 13th 2018
After almost a month, the 2018 CEV Volleyball Champions League returns at PalaTrento. Tomorrow evening Wednesday, February 14th, the match will be played at the top of Pool E (Main Phase) of the most important club continental event: Trentino Diatec will face the Polish Champions of Zaksa Kedzierzyn-Kozle. The match is scheduled for 8.30 pm: live TV on Fox Sports, Radio Dolomiti and live audio and video streaming on the website www.laola1.tv.
Here Trentino Diatec The penultimate match of the Pool Phase of the tournament offers a great opportunity to the yellow-blue team; in case of victory at the most in four sets, Lanza and his teammates would mathematically win the first place of Pool E with a day in advance. Succeeding, however, will not be a simple undertaking, taking into account the defeat at the tie break in Poland and the frenetic pace of the calendar, which will see the team play the fifth match in this month of February. "It's a decisive match for the first place in the Pool and it will have to be face with this spirit - explained coach Angelo Lorenzetti -. After the first match lost in the tie break we have the opportunity to redeem ourselves and take an important step towards the Playoffs 12 but we know that it won’t be easy because we’ll face a strong opponent, who is first not by chance in an important championship like the Polish one ". Trentino Diatec coach will have the entire squad of thirteen players at his disposal and will finish the preparation between tonight and Wednesday morning with the last two technical-tactical training sessions still available before the match. Trento-Kedzierzyn-Kozle will be the forty-ninth European home match in the history of Trentino Volley, the thirty-fourth ever in the Champions League at PalaTrento, where until now has achieved thirty wins and only three defeats: one of these, however, refers precisely to a challenge against Zaksa (at the tie break on December 14th, 2011). Still on the subject of numbers, for Diatec, the one with the Poles will be the 142nd international match of all time, the 109th in Europe, the 79th in the Champions League.
The Opponents Zaksa Kedzierzyn-Kozle peeps for the fourth time at PalaTrento with the need to put behind a not simple period of its own history. Despite continuing to lay down the law in the PlusLiga, the Polish championship with ten points ahead of Warsaw second, the white-red-blue team in fact has recently failed the first important match in its homeland being eliminated by Gdansk in the National Cup semifinals and two weeks ago in Maaseik had to deal with the first seasonal defeat in the Champions League. The knockout at the tie break has taken the lead from the Pool to Andrea Gardini's team, who will have to win on Wednesday evening to win it back. The captain of the three world championship successes of the Italian National Team (1990, 1994 and 1998) will play on this occasion the first official match at home of his coaching career, but still doesn’t know if he can use in 4th place the Belgian Deroo. The former spiker of Modena and Verona got a sprained ankle during the 3-0 home on Lubin last Saturday and is likely not to play the match. The rose of Zaksa Kedizerzyn-Kozle: 1.
