Trento, April 30th, 2016

The one that ended Monday evening at PalaTrento in Game 4 of the semifinal playoffs Championship UnipolSai with Modena was the first full season as a regular in Super League for Simone Giannelli. Before having a week of (deserved) holiday abroad, the young setter from Bolzano told about this year experienced as protagonist with the jersey of Trentino Volley, in a very original way: his remarks were in fact transmitted live on Wednesday afternoon on April 27th directly from the Official Facebook Page of Trentino Volley (www.trentinovolley.it/facebook) in an interview that turned out to be a success as witness by the more than 5,600 views (5,304 by different viewers).

Below, the more interesting parts of the social chat

MY SEASON. "For me it was a more difficult season than the previous ones because for the first time I lived it as a regular. I think I have dealt with it in the right way, without feeling too much the pressures and in this helped me a lot my teammates, who have never questioned me; I think for example of the support and help received from Bratoev. It has been a beautiful year, I think I grew up and I did well thanks to the absolute value of the team”.

GAME 4 WITH MODENA. "We lost in a somewhat "silly" way, because we have had the chances to win the challenge but we couldn’t exploit them. I refer of course to the first part of the match, in which we gave the impression of being able to hold the reins of the match but when we didn’t take advantage of it, Modena, as a great team, punished us. This is also why the days after the defeat were not simple, we still feel disappointed because we thought we could get at least Game 5. My request for inciting the public in the match? I felt that we needed a shock and although I would do anything to get it, it was a good time because there was a great response of the fans”.

THREE FINALS IN ONE SEASON. "I am proud of what my team has done over the past seven months of competition because playing three finals in four competitions played it isn’t easy at all. We weren’t able to win but I am convinced that it is better to get to play these games rather than not being able to even make it and watch them on television. The biggest regret is certainly related to that played in Krakow in the Champions League, because we missed the title of European champions for few balls. But I think that the experience gained on that occasion will be useful for the future to everyone: players, staff and Company. The image I have of this season is the one of us on the second step of the podium at Tauron Arena; in any case a significant moment”.

THE COMPLIMENTS OF VULLO. "After Game 3 of the playoffs semifinals I met Fabio Vullo: receiving his compliments made me particularly happy and proud because he was a player that in my role has made history. Compare myself with him was truly an honor”.

SHORT BREAK. "The elimination from the playoffs will allow me for the first time in more than two years to pull the plug and take a short break. I need it but I'll do it with the desire to return to work early in order to become stronger than before and give everything for the summer in the national team".

RIO 2016. "The Olympics is a great event, but must be earned. I do not give anything for granted, I will work in the gym every day to try to deserve a place among the players who will be in Brazil in August. It’s a dream that I want to accomplish”.
