Trento, 26th September 2016

The weekend of Del Monte® Supercoppa Italiana 2016 won’t be remembered as the first victory of the new coach of Trentino Volley, Angelo Lorenzetti, but three iconic players of the sport club of via Trener registered important statistics objectives. The most significant is with no doubts the goal met by Filippo Lanza; the captain has celebrated his 200th presence in the half-field of Trentino Volley, after playing on both competition days. It’s a prestigious goal, considering that  Pippo is the youngest player who has ever met it in less than five seasons playing in the first team and the sixth  player ever after Birarelli (345), Bari (339), Kaziyski (334), Colaci (290) and Della Lunga (215). He scored 1716 personal points (19 during the semi-final against Modena and the final against Civitanova at PalaPanini) and he’s the fifth top scorer ever in the ranking led by Kaziyski with 4945 points. Stokr is in this rank too and on Saturday he exceeded 2000 points (in the previous seasons he scored a total of 1997 points). An another player who could celebrate an important goal is Simone Giannelli, who reached 100 presences thanks to the match played on Saturday afternoon at PalaPanini. The setter from Bolzano has written another important page in the record book of Trentino Volley: he has been the youngest player ever to debut in first team (on October 27th 2013 in Ravenna as he was only 17 years old), to win the championship (on May 12th 2013 at PalaTrento against Piancenza, as he was the reserve of Sintini). Now he is also the youngest “centenarian”. Moreover, considering the statistics, Simone has scored 233 points in official matches with Trentino Volley. On Sunday at PalaTrento, during the seasonal debut in SuperLega UnipolSai 2016/17, the Club of via Trener will play against Vibo Valentia  seeking 460th victory in 662 official matches played in its history. The team will prepare for the event from Tuesday afternoon, first training after a week of preparation to the home test match against Padova on Thursday afternoon.
