Mitar Djuric was the best scorer of Diatec Trentino: 30 points in 5 sets

Padua, January 17th, 2016

Diatec Trentino suffered for another five set, but in the end celebrated the first victory of 2016 right on the field of Padua, where fifteen years earlier won the first away match of its history. Three days after the test against Molfetta of the Italian Cup, the tricolor still had a hard time to continuously express themselves, surpassing  in comeback  the hosts Tonazzo at tie-break. Under 2-1, after 3 sets stained by too many errors and problems in managing the great benefits previously achieved (as in the first part and then in the second, however, won), the Italian champions have so lost a point but then they did mark a big reaction that allowed them to win hands down the remaining 2 sets. The two points obtained are valuable for the Super League standings and will allow to get to a direct confrontation against Perugia next Saturday at PalaTrento with a length advantage over Umbria.

For Stoytchev’s team the 30 points scored by Djuric have been decisive (MVP of the match with full credit thanks to the 57% in attack, with three blocks and one ace), the continuity of Urnaut during the match, the coldness of Lanza on the important balls at tie-break and the guessed entrance of Bratoev, important at the service in the second period (an ace at the head start) and then at the direction instead of Giannelli from mid of the third set forward.
