The relationship between Trentino Volley and the European competitions will be always special and full of significant moments. The result obtained tonight in Istanbul allowed the sport club of via Trener to continue the series of international events in which it has taken part since 2009. Today the club of the president Mosna has officially qualified for what will be its sixth European final, its tenth one at international level in the last eight years. The closing match of this tournament, scheduled between April 12th and 16th, will be another important moment for the history of this sport club that was able to conquer four times the Club World Championship and on three occasions the Champions League. Memories regarding CEV events are constantly growing: the first memory is related to 5th April 2009 in Praga, as facing Iraklis Thessaloniki the yellow-blue team won 3-1, conquering the cup after beating Macerata in the semi-finals in the tricolour derby; the second one on 2nd May 2010 with the great success against Dinamo Mosca at Atlas Arena in Lodz; the third one, an unforgettable match, on 27th March 2011 with a 3-1 victory against Kazan in the final at PalaOnda in Bolzano. In the last two seasons, 2014/15 and 2015/16, the only continental finals that Trentino Volley has lost: at the golden set against Dinamo Mosca on 11th April 2015 in CEV Cup and at the tie break against Kazan in Krakow (Poland) during 2016 CEV Champions League. If we don’t consider this competition in particular, we must point out that this qualification for the final is the 30th final in the whole history of Trentino Volley; this number includes also twenty matches at national level: three against Piacenza in the play-offs scudetto 2008,2009 and 2013, six against Macerata (V-Day 2012, Coppa Italia 2015 and 2017, Supercoppa Italiana 2008, 2012 and 2013) and four against Modena (Coppa Italia 2015 and 2016, final of Scudetto 2015, and final of Supercoppa Italiana). If we consider matches in which a victory means to win a trophy, the yellow-blue team was successful on sixteen occasions out of twenty-nine: until now, Trentino Volley has won seven out of nine international final in which has taken part. Besides Champions League (2009, 2010, 2011) the team from Trento conquered four Club World Championships, all played in Doha against Belchatow (3-0 on 8th November 2009 and 3-1 on 21st December 2010), Jastrzebski (3-1, on 14th October 2011) and Cruzeiro (19th October 2012, 3-0).
