It will be played during the weekend the 24th day of regular season of SuperLega Unipolsai 2016/17. Diatec Trentino will be protagonist of the big match of the day waiting for the visit of Azimut Modena on Sunday February 19th in the classic “A22 derby”.

Here Diatec Trentino With a renewed self-confidence after the victory for 3-1 versus Sastamala on Wednesday evening, the yellow-blue team are now immediately looking for another good performance to keep safe its second place in ranking, which has turned again to be disputed after the defeat in Civitanova of last Sunday.
Beyond the prestige and the historic rivalry with the opponents, Angelo Lorenzetti's team really needs the victory and will have to defend itself from the assaults of Perugia and the same Modena in the last three days of regular season.
“It's a decisive match for our place in ranking in the regular season – explained Diatec Trentino's coach during the presentation of the match - . We know the value of Modena; it is three points behind us but the stats of its championship are better than ours and this means that they are still better than us in something. Even more so we will have to face this match with great humility as well as with competitive determination, that always is needed to win such a hard match”.
The coach will be able to rely on each of the fourteen actual players and will probably decide to the last whether to confirm the starting six which played the greatest part of the match versus Civitanova or to line up Nelli and Solé, who played really well in the midweek match of CEV Cup.
It will be a statistically important match for Lanza, who in this occasion will wear the Trentino Volley captain's armband for the 85th time (with an overall of 234 matches played with the yellow-blue kit), reaching Grbic's record in this special ranking. Before Pippo are only Kaziyski (204 times captain) and Birarelli (91 times).
On Sunday evening the Club of via Trener will play the 697th official match of its history (with an overall of 487 victories and 209 defeats), the 428th match of regular season, the 318th match at PalaTrento, where the team has not suffered a defeat from April 25th 2016 and from 14 matches in a row.
Last opponent being able to conquer PalaTrento was Modena in the 4th match of the championship Play Off in 2016.
The Opponents Azimut Modena comes to PalaTrento with the need of a victory to keep opened a window of opportunity for the second place in ranking. The team from Emilia has shown to quickly got used to the change of coach, happened right after the defeat in Verona; with the Assistant Coach Lorenzo Tubertini promoted to coach in exchange for Piazza, has immediately came two victories (in Monza and in the home match versus Molfetta) and also the victory in Champions League versus Belchatow of Wednesday evening.
The only bad thing about the match versus the Polish team has been the ankle injury of the American middle-blocker Holt. His presence at the match is the only one in doubt in a roster that, compared to the one which played the semifinals of Coppa Italia in January, has to run without the American spiker Cook, who canceled his contract with the society.
Despite Modena is now in the fourth place in ranking, with three points less than Trento and Perugia, Modena lost one less match in regular season compared to the other teams that are now ahead and continues to be the most incisive team in the service phase, with a media of more than two aces per set.

Previous matches Modena is by far the opponents which Trentino Volley played against the greatest number of times in its sixteen years of activity; on Sunday evening will be played the 66th official match between the two teams and the overall number of victories is in favor of the Club of via Trener for 37-28. But in the last three season the challenge presented great balance and a lot of matches; starting from December 21st 2014 the two teams has played against eighteen times, each one with nine victories.
In the regular season the challenge occurred three times, always in Emilia: on September 24th 2016 (victory for 3-1 of the home team in the semifinals of Supercoppa) and November 20th 2016 (victory for 3-1 of Modena in the going match of regular season) at PalaPanini of Modena, January 28th 2017 at Unipol Arena of Bologna (tie break victory of Trento in the semifinals of Coppa Italia). PalaTrento has been conquered by Modena only eight times in twenty-nine previous matches, but the two most recent times the guest team reached its goal: April 12th 2016 (tie break victory) and April 25th 2016 (1-3). From that day PalaTrento has always remained untouched.
Referees The match will be directed by Fabrizio Pasquali (from Ascoli Piceno, in Serie A since 1997, on international field since 2001) and by Marco Braico (from Turin, in Serie A since 2003). Pasquali is at his twelfth direction in SuperLega UnipolSai 2016/17, only one with Trento (victory 3-0 in Sora on 9th October), while Braico is at his fourteenth direction in this season, the fourth with Diatec Trentino; his precedents: Padova-Trento 2-3, Trento-Monza 3-2 and Trento-Ravenna 3-0.
Radio, Tv and Internet The match will be reported live by Radio Dolomiti (Trentino Volley partner network). The links with the match at PalaTrento will be made within “Campioni di Sport”, the sport program of via Missioni Africane. The frequencies to listen to the regional network are available on the home page www.trentinovolley.it, while on the site www.radiodolomiti.com will be also possible to listen to the live streaming of the report of the match.
It is also scheduled a live video-report of the match on the web space “Lega Volley Channel”, at www.sportube.tv/volley (service with fee). The recorded broadcast of the match will be entirely transmitted on Monday 20th February at 9.30 p.m. by RTTR, partner TV of the Club of via Trener.
