Diatec Trentino is preparing to live the traditional Adige derby against Calzedonia Verona in the last home event of its regular season. The race will be broadcast live on television by RAI Sport 1 and for this reason will be anticipated at 5.15 pm. Provided, as usual, also the live commentary on Radio Dolomiti.
HERE DIATEC TRENTINO The second consecutive commitment in front of their home crowd in the space of four days, offers to the Italian champions the opportunity to go on the hunt for more points to improve their excellent ranking that starts already, at least, from a fixed point: the third place. Thanks to the success for 3-1 of last Wednesday against Milan, Diatec Trentino in fact secured this position and in the last two races that remain for the regular season 2015/16 (tonight with Verona, on March 6th in Civitanova Marche) will try to put pressure to Modena, which occupies the second place with two points more and will play tonight against the CMC Romagna and next Sunday at home against Padua.
"It’s true that we are sure of the third place and tonight the result of tonight’s match will not change anything from this point of view, but this doesn’t mean that we will not do our best to get a positive result” - says the coach Radostin Stoytchev -. “This is an event that must be planned carefully, because otherwise you risk to look foolish; Verona is a strong team, that with the recovery of the opposite Starovic has once again become full and rich of alternatives in every position. Until two or three weeks ago it fought for the third place, before having to deal with injuries further. So I’m expecting a difficult game”.
The Bulgarian technician should confirm the structure seen in the field for most of the match against Milan; with the unavailability of Lanza and Djuric (who has to rest for a shoulder problem), once again there is space for the high-ball trio, Urnaut, Antonov and Nelli (mvp on Wednesday night). Tonight Trentino Volley will play the official race number 644 in its history, the 295^ ever in PalaTrento and will see the Club of Via Trener hunting for the 279^ victory in the regular season.
PREVIOUSLY The one of today will be the 27th derby of the Adige between Trentino Volley and Verona. The latest victory of Verona is dated November 1st, 2014 at the PalaOlimpia of Verona (3-0), and dates back to January 8th, 2014, the last statement of the Venetian (3-1) to PalaTrento, field who managed to conquer three other times. The two teams have played well in the plant of via Fersina a pre-season test match won 2-3 by Calzedonia (21-25, 25-16, 23-25, 25-23, 10-15) on October 22nd, 2015 .
REFEREES the meeting will be led by the tandem of Armando Simbari (from Milan, in the top serie since 2007) and Stefano Cesare (from Rome, in role since 1999 and internationally since 2010), the second joint leadership in the Super League UnipolSai 2015/16, the eleventh for the Lombardy whistle, the twelfth for Cesare. In the current season, Simbari refereed Diatec Trentino during the 3-0 home victory over Piacenza on November 11th, while Cesare directed Modena vs. Trento 3-2 (Italian Super Cup Final) on October 24th, 2015 and the two successes at tie break against Lube (on December 13th, 2015 in the championship, on February 6th, 2016 in the semifinals of the Italian Cup).
TV, RADIO AND INTERNET Trento-Verona will be a global media event, broadcasted live on any type of media. On television will be broadcast by RAI Sport 1, visible on the digital terrestrial platform and on Sky on channel 227, with comment entrusted to Maurizio Colantoni and Andrea Lucchetta.
