Trento, November 16th 2016

Another midweek match of the regular season for Diatec Trentino. Tomorrow evening, Thursday November 17th, the team in the first place will play at PalaBanca, Piacenza, the rescheduled match of the 5th turn, against LPR. Transmitted by RAI Sport 1 and Radio Dolomiti.
DIATEC TRENTINO From the fifth place to the first one in only two weeks, thanks to perfect performances (12 points out of 12 right after the return from Brazil). The yellow-blue team deals with the first of two away matches in Emilia scheduled on the second part of this week, with the purpose to increase the advantage over the other teams. The match in Piacenza, originally scheduled on when the yellow-blue team was playing the Club World Championship, offers three points and the chance to be unbeatable. “Thursday’s match at PalaBanca is very important, not only for the classification, but also because it can give us useful information for our future. Something similar could be said also for the match of Sunday in Modena – stated the coach Angelo Lorenzetti, presenting the two matches (he is a former coach of both teams) -. We want to gain more points but at the same time to improve our game, learning something new, as always. We face one of the better diagonal setter-middle hitter of the entire championship (Hierrezuelo-Hernandez, ndr), which will give a lot of pleasure to the audience during this year”. All fourteen members of the team are at disposal and the coach will decide the starting six only at the last moment; he might alternate the central hitters. The team will leave for Piacenza today, right after the afternoon training at PalaTrento. On Thursday evening, the yellow-blue team will play the 676th official match of its history (472 victories and 203 defeats), the 413th one in the regular season, the 368th one away (it won 231 away matches).
RIVALS LPR Piacenza will play against Diatec Trentino after a positive period; thanks to five victories in the last six matches, Alberto Giuliani’s team was able to cancel the previous season, occupying the first part of the classification. It has only four points than the team in the fourth place (Verona) thanks to the three victories (out of six) at the tiebreak. At the PalaBanca, except the debut against Perugia (1-3), the team has always won (against Verona, Milano, Latina and Ravenna). The return of Marshall (as foreigners), the great purchase of the French Clevenot (third striker in the championship) and the Cuban diagonal from Molfetta Hierrezuelo-Hernandez, led the team to improve itself and to have important points of reference.
PRECEDENTS Piacenza is one of the teams against which Trentino Volley has played the most: 48 out of 675 official matches played in sixteen seasons of activity; after Modena (63) and Lube (51). Trento has won 31 matches (Piacenza 19) also thanks to the seven victories in the last nine matches played against each other. LPR hasn’t won against Trentino since 8th March 2014 (3-1, semi-final of Coppa Italia in Bologna) and then has been defeated five times in a row (twice in Trento and three times at PalaBanca). Trentino Volley has won in Piacenza eleven out of the overall twenty-two matches played: the most recent dates back to 31st April 2015 (3-0). In the pre-championship period, Trentino Volley has played and won three friendly matches against team that were at a lower level compared to the Yellow-blues: 3-1 on 7th September at PalaBanca, 3-2 at PalaTrento on 14th September and 3-0 on 18th September at Villafranca Veronese.

They are at their second direction together in SuperLega UnipolSai 2016/17, the fifth for Florian (last precedent with Trento on 25th November 2015, defeat 0-3 in Molfetta), the fourth for Lot, who has directed a match of Diatec Trentino for the last time on 3rd February 2016 (against Ravenna, defeat 2-3).
