One of six blocks of Simon Van de Voorde at Pala De André
ph. Trabalza
Ravenna, November 1st 2016
After a record of official commitments in October (ten in 31 days), Diatec Trentino begins the month of November with an important victory at Pala De Andrè in Ravenna. The team of Angelo Lorenzetti confirms its positive tradition on the field of Romagna and on this occasion collects the sixth victory in a row in SuperLega, winning for 3-1 against Bunge. The result allows the Yellow-blues to remain with the leading couple (3 points ahead but with one more match played) and to close in the best possible way the three matches won against Latina, Perugia and Ravenna in a matter of six days.
In order to get this positive result, the Yellow-blues had to use all their mental and physical energies; Ravenna fought ball-by-ball throughout the match, proving how good it really is. The difference has been made by the more experience of the players of Trento in managing the final part of the sets and by the personal performance of a couple of players who are very inspired in this period of the season. Especially the setter Simone Giannelli (once again mpv of the match in the same sport centre where he debuted in the regular team three years ago) who made his team attack with an excellent 58%, but also the opposite Gabriele Nelli (best scorer of its team with 19 points and 66% in attack) and the middle blocker Simon Van de Voorde (6 out of 11 blocks of the team) have been great. The victory could have been more smooth if Diatec Trentino hadn’t had a little pause on the 22-19 of the third set which has been won by Bunge. In the fourth set, however, the right reaction has arrived and the team has won 3-1, with Lanza (14 points) who has been great to stop the comeback attempt of Torres (22) and his team-mates.
