For the Diatec Trentino the last SuperLega match before the trip to Brasil

During this weekend there will be played the third round of SuperLeague UnipolSai 2016/17. Diatec Trentino will take part in the Friday night television anticipation. October 14th the vice European Champions will play the second championship away match in a row, visiting Kioene Arena Padova. Tip-off is scheduled at 8.30 p.m. live on television on RAI Sport 1 and live commentary on Radio Dolomiti.
HERE DIATEC TRENTINO After a great regular season start (double 3-0 win, only in the seasons 2005/06 and 2011/12 the yellow-blue had such a fantastic start), Angelo Lorenzetti's team goes to Veneto chasing for a win that can keep it at the top of the championship and at the same time will draw near 2016 Club World Championship in the best way possible. Padua's match has been brought two days forward in order to give Trentino Volley the opportunity to fly to Brazil on Sunday night.
The coach of Diatec Trentino sees this game not only as an opportunity to end in the best way possible the first part of the championship but also to verify the condition of the players a few days before the international tournament. “ Against Kioene it will be a stimulating challenge difficult to win – explains the coach – . The recent history shows that it is not easy to win against Padova when they play at home, during this season they won against Ravenna and they hold their own against Perugia in the last match. The friendly match we played at PalaTrento two weeks ago showed us they have excellent players and we could run into difficulties. Once more we will need great personality, but I think this is the right test for us to see if we are ready for the Club World Championship”.
Trentino Volley will reach Padua tonight by bus, after an early afternoon training session at PalaTrento. All the players will be available for the coaching staff.
Tomorrow's game will be official match number 664 in the history of the club, number 407 in regular season, and the team will try to obtain the away win number 225. It will be an important match for two former: Lorenzetti (in Veneto between 2000 and 2001 was his first coach season in the top league) and Burgsthaler, who was a key player for the white-black in the promotion to Serie A1 in 2011.
RIVALS Despite the important start of Cook, Orduna (in Modena) and Berger (in Perugia), the beginning of the season has immediately revealed that Kioene Padova represents a danger in this new championship, just like in the last season, when the Club got the qualification to the playoff. Once again, the team, which is trained by Valerio Baldovin, is a possible surprise of the tournament: the victory against Ravenna on the first day of regular season and the great match played on Sunday evening in Perugia have shown that the talented American setter Shaw and the American hitter Maar (already 31 points) are already on the same wavelength as other important players, such as the opposite Giannotti (who became Captain last summer), the young libero Balaso and the middle blocker Averill. Among the regular players there is also an ex of the Club of via Trener; after the great season in Molfetta, Michele Fedrizzi, who plays in area 4, (he grew in the group of Diatec Trentino and played 75 official matches in the first team collecting 212 personal points) is going to become a regular player. Tomorrow evening, he will be one of the most determined players to make a good impression in front of a public that wants to live a great match.
PRECEDENTS Trentino Volley and Pallavolo Padova have a long tradition of official matches which begun in 2000 with some interruptions due to the relegation of the Venetian team in Serie A2 between 2009 and 2011 and between 2012 and 2013. They played 24 official matches (only of regular season): the yellow-blue team won 20 matches out of 24 with a sequence of 14 victories in a row that has been lasting for twelve years. The most recent success of Padua dates 13th February 2005, when at Pala San Lazzaro (now called Kioene Arena) the home team won for 3-2. The Venetian team has won two more games out of eleven matches played in Padua, and always to the tie-breaker: on February 16th 2003 and on February 1st 2004. On January 17th , Diatec Trentino and Kioene Padova played their last match in Padua: 3-2 with a great comeback thanks to Djuric (30 points, 57% attack, mvp of the match). The two teams faced also in the pre-championship period: victory for 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-22) of Diatec Trentino at PalaTrento on September 29th.
THE REFEREES The referees for the match will be Luca Sobrero (Carcare – Savona, In Serie A since 1996, International from 2004) and Marco Braico (Turin, in Serie A since 2003). For both of them it's the second match of the season in SuperLeague Unipolsai 2016/17, the first with Trentino Volley. The last time Sobrero refereed a Diatec Trentino match was on April 9th2016 (Modena-Trento 3-1 in game one of the championship semi-finals), while for Braico the last time is dated back to February 21st 2016 (3-1 win versus Latina).
TV, RADIO AND INTERNET The match will be a global media event and it will be live simultaneously on TV, radio and internet. The match will be in fact broadcast by RAI Sport 1, which is present both on the digital terrestrial platform and on Sky at channel number 227, with the commentary of Marco Fantasia and Claudio Galli; the match will be also streamed on the internet at www.raisport.rai.it/dl/raisport/multimedia/diretta.html and will count on a intercontinental visibility (24 affiliated nations) thanks to the live streams offered by Band Sports, Sportsklub, Sportmax, Saran and Igm.
The match will be, as usual, live broadcast by Radio Dolomiti, partner radio of Trentino Volley, starting from 8:25 p.m. All the available frequencies to listen to the regional network are on the home page of Trentino Volley, www.trentinovolley.it , while on www.radiodolomiti.com you can also to the live streaming radio commentary by accessing to the “On Air” section.
The whole deferred coverage will be on TV on October 17th at 9:30 p.m on RTTR, TV partner of Diatec Trentino, immediately after “RTTR Volley” and will be shown again at midnight on the same channel.
