After the pause of last weekend for the Final Four of Del Monte® Coppa Italia 2017, this weekend will be back the regular season of SuperLega UnipolSai 2016/2017. For the week 21 it was already played the anticipation match of Friday night Sora-Molfetta (3-1), while Diatec Trentino will play at PalaYamamay in Busto Arsizio (Varese) against Revivre Milano; match start at 6 p.m. on the 5th of February. Live on Radio Dolomiti and live streaming at Lega Volley Channel on the site www.sportube.tv.
HERE DIATEC TRENTINO Left behind last week during which we played national Cup and CEV Cup, the yellow-blue team turns back its attention to the championship. The away match in Lombardy will start the final rush of the regular season in which Diatec Trentino will try to defend the second place currently shared with Perugia (who will play an home match against Civitanova).
“The finale part of the second half of the season starts and we have to be ready because every match is important – explained the coach Angelo Lorenzetti - . We spent a lot of energies to get to the final of Coppa Italia and now we must find more energy to end the regular season in the best way possible. The path starts with the away match against Revivre, a team that collect less than it deserves because they had many injuries. They have talented player in area 4 and we will pay attention. We need to win if we want to be what we proposed at the beginning of the season; the goal is remaining between the best teams of SuperLega until the end”.
Diatec Trentino will leave to Busto Arsizio today in the evening, less than 24 hours from the return from Finland, where it won the 25th win in 33 games played in the season. The technical staff has the entire roster available and will decide at the very last moment the starting six, with Nelli and Daniele Mazzone that showed in Sastamala to be effective choice in their role.
At PalaYamamay, where between 9.30 a.m. and 11 a.m. there will be last training before the game, Trentino Volley will play its match number 693 in its history, the 378th away match (236 victories and 141 defeats).
THE ADVERSARIES The Victory of Sora against Molfetta in the anticipation of Friday’s evening led Revivre Milano to the last lonely place of the ranking list; this team has won so far only three matches in the whole championship ( two against Molfetta and then the home match against Padova) and it has collected just thirteen points. The Milanese Club in the last days allowed the Serbian opposite Starovic (went to Paok Salonicco) to leave and has replaced him with the young Polish Adamajtis, taken during the week from Czestochowa, in order to try and change the patch of the season particularly unlucky so far also regarding the injuries. But in diagonal to Sbertoli in the match of Sunday, the Canadian Hoag (7° server of the tourney with 32 personal aces) could be employed, leaving room to Marretta and Skrimov in band. While at the center court there’s usually place for Gianluca Galassi, lent during last summer by Trentino Volley to get more important experience in the maximum national championship. After a bright beginning, characterized by an important point extorted at, the home round of Revivre was influenced by the last five consecutive defeats; the most recent one on January 22nd for 1-3 in Verona, after having almost win the tie break.
THE PRECEDENTS On Sunday will be written the sixth chapter of the competition between Trentino Volley and Power Volley Milano (Club just born in 2013, at its third consecutive season in the maximum Italian championship). Between the two Clubs the only official precedents are those of regular season 2014/15, 2015/16 and the away match of this season, won for 3-0 by the Yellow-blue on November 6th 2016, with sets of 29-27, 25-19, 25-19 and Urnaut mvp. The balance-sheet of the match is favorable only for Trento with 5 victories in 5 played matches and only one set lost (On February 24th 2016 at PalaTrento). The home match of Revivre will be played for the third consecutive season in a different establishment: on February 8th 2015 was played at Forum di Assago, on December 5th 2015 at PalaBorsani of Castellanza and tomorrow at PalaYamamay of Busto Arsizio. In its last thirteen seasons of maximum series, Trentino Volley faced already two different mates from Milan: Asystel, in six circumstances, between 2000 and 2003 and Sparkling, in two occasions, between 2007 and 2008. The balance-sheet that counts all the matches against teams from Milan is slightly favorable for Trento: eight victories against the five ones of the teams from Lombardia.
THE REFEREES The match will be guided by Maurizio Canessa (from Bari, in Serie A from 2009) and Luca Sobrero (from Carcare – Savona, in maximum series from 1996 and at international level from 2004). The two referees will be at their first joined in SuperLega UnipolSai 2016/17, the third so far for Canessa (who hasn’t precedents with Trentino Volley), the tenth season for Sobrero, who has already arbitrated Padova-Trento 2-3 (October 14th) and Modena-Trento 2-3 on November 20th.
RADIO, INTERNET AND TV The match will be broadcasted in live and whole coverage by Radio Dolomiti, network partner of Trentino Volley. The connections with Busto Arsizio will be made by “Campioni di Sport”, Sunday’s sport container of the emitter in via Missioni Africane. The frequencies to listen to the regional network are available on the home page www.trentinovolley.it, while on the web site www.radiodolomiti.com you will be able to listen to the live radio coverage in streaming.
