For the Diatec Trentino 28 point in 12 SuperLega matches

Thanks to the two points conquered on Sunday evening at PalaTrento with the success at the tie break against Gi Group Monza, Diatec Trentino fulfils its first goal of the season. In fact, after the victory against this team, the qualification for the quarter-finals of 2017 Del Monte^® Coppa Italia is now certain: the first four teams in the ranking by the end of the first half of the regular season of 2016/17 SuperLega UnipolSai qualify for participation. In this way, the team has avoided the round of 16 matches, which is scheduled on the 14^th and 15^th December and will have as protagonists the teams that have placed themselves between the 5^th and the 12^th position in the ranking (a single match played in the home structure of the best qualified team among them). The team of Angelo Lorenzetti, that is now second with a gap of two points as compared to the first qualified team, Lube, and with one point more than Modena, is already sure to place itself within the first three positions, considering that the team that has qualified fourth in the current ranking, Perugia, must make up 4 points to catch up with the others. The fight for the title of champion of the regular season’s first half (and the dominant position in the grid of the board of Coppa Italia) will end after the last round of matches, which are all scheduled on November Sunday 4^th from 6 p.m. Trento will play against Molfetta while Azimut will face Lube at PalaPanini. As already said, Diatec Trentino can place itself among the first three teams, considering that, when two or more teams have the same points in the ranking, what matter are (in order of priority): number of victories, quotient of sets and quotient of points. Here are all the possible combinations.

Diatec Trentino will be champion of the first half of regular season (1^st position) if:

• beats Molfetta playing a maximum of four sets (3-0 or 3-1) and Civitanova loses against Modena with a maximum of four played sets (0-3 or 1-3);
• wins in Molfetta 3-0 and Civitanova loses in Modena at the tie break;
• wins in Molfetta 3-1 and Civitanova loses in Modena at the tie break; in this case, Diatec Trentino needs a better quotient of points than Civitanova, as the two teams have both the same number of victories (11) and the same quotient of sets(2,57).

Diatec Trentino will be second if:

• Civitanova beats Modena with a maximum of four played sets  (3-0 or 3-1);
• Molfetta wins 3-1, Civitanova loses in Modena at the tie break and Trento registers a worse quotient of points as compared to Civitanova, as in this case they would have the same number of victories (11) and quotient of sets (2,57);
• Molfetta wins 3-2 and Civitanova loses at the tie break in Modena.

Diatec Trentino will place itself third if:

• Molfetta beats Trento with any score and Civitanova loses in Modena with any score;
• loses in Molfetta with a maximum of four played sets and Civitanova wins in Modena at the tie break;
• wins 3-2 in Molfetta and Civitanova loses in Modena with a maximum of four played sets (0-3 or  1-3).

In 7 days we will have the actual answers, determined by the real results on the field. Diatec Trentino will prepare for the away game in Puglia from Tuesday morning (training in the weight room at PalaTrento), after relaxing on Monday.
