Verona, March 22nd 2017

The matches lasted one hour and fourteen minutes and gave Diatec Trentino the chance to play 5 sets and to rotate all the players to keep them focused and in a good shape, even far from PalaTrento. The midweek test match played this afternoon at PalaOlimpia gave Diatec Trentino many useful hints, regardless the final result. Calzedonia managed to win the match at the end of a very close fifth set but coach Lorenzetti still looked very satisfied about the match played by his players in Verona. The coach from Marche, who strongly wished this match to maintain the competitive pace of his team acquired during last period, had so the chance to prepare the away match in Perugia of Saturday for match 2 of the Play Off semi-finals, getting many positive aspects. The most convincing parts of the match have been in the second set and in the third one, when Diatec Trentino has constantly kept the reins of the match after a first partial started with low intensity.
Especially the attack, with Giannelli as setter, has reached good percentages (55% in the second set, 60% in the third one) with a good performance by Lanza (54% with three blocks), Urnaut (50%) and particularly by Daniele Mazzone scoring 12 quick attacks with 83%. In the last two sets there has been place also for Burgsthaler, Blasi and Tiziano Mazzone, who fought tooth and nail until the end of the match.
