Trento, January 9th 2017

The match at PalaTrento against Monza scheduled on Wednesday, January 11th, will be with direct elimination and for Trentino Volley is the 15th participation at the quarters of final of Coppa Italia in 17 seasons. The yellow-blue team didn’t play this phase only in the debut season in A1 (2000/01, eliminated in the preliminary phase by Cuneo) and in the last Lattari’s management (2006/07). In nine occasions, the team passes the quarters, reaching the Final Four: in 2001/02 (3-2 victory against Montichiari in Forlì), in 2005/06 passing over Macerata (3-1) in Ferrara, in 2009/10 passing over Perugia 3-0 at PalaTrento, in 2010/11 winning 3-0 against Monza at home, in 2011/12 winning 3-0 against ViboValentia at PalaTrento, in 2012/14 passing over Perugia at home with four sets, in 2013/14 winning 3-1 against Modena, in 2014/15 passing over Piacenza at the tiebreak, and last season, winning against Molfetta in the double matches (3-0 in Puglia and 2-3 at PalaTrento). They won the competition three times: January 31st 2010 in Montecatini Terme, thanks to the 3-1 against Cuneo, on February 19th 2010, thanks to the 3-2 against Lube at PalaLottomatca in Rome and December 30th 2012, thanks to the 3-1 against Lube at the Assago forum. The team played 6 finals, counting also the lost ones against Cuneo (2010/11) and Modena (last two editions). In the other five participations, the yellow-blue team lost at the quarters: in 2002/03 against Macerata, in 2003/04 against Cuneo, in 2004/05, 2007/08 and 2008/09 against Treviso. The one against Monza will be the second ever in the competition; the previous one was played at the quarters of the edition 2011 against a different club than this one: Acqua Paradiso (Montichiari). The precedents against VeroVolley are five, all favorable for the yellow-blue team.
