The one of Saturday January 28th 2017 at Unipol Arena of Casalecchio di Reno (Bologna) will be the tenth participation to the Final Four of Del Monte® Coppa Italia for Trentino Volley, for a total amount of fifteen presences in the main rounds of the competition.

The Club of via Trener didn't take part in the competition only in its first season in A1 (2000/01, defeated in the preliminary stages by Cuneo) and in the last season of Lattari's management (2006/07).

Diatec Trentino won three times the competition: on 31st January 2010 in Montecatini Terme thanks to the victory for 3-1 versus Cuneo in the finals, on February 19th 2012 thanks to the coming-back for 3-2 versus Lube at PalaLottomatica of Roma and on Dicember 30th 2012 thanks to the 3-1 again versus Lube at Forum of Assago.
The total amount of played finals is six, taking into account of the lost ones with Cuneo (2010/11) and Modena (the last two seasons). In two other circumstances, the elimination from the competition came instead in the semifinals: in 2002 (defeat for 0-3 in Assago versus Cuneo), in 2006 (defeat for 0-3 versus Cuneo in Forlì) and 2014 (defeat for 1-3 versus Piacenza in Bologna).

For Trentino Volley the one in the semifinals will be the fourth consecutive match versus Modena in the last four editions of the competition; from season 2013/14 the two teams in fact costantly faced each other in a match of the main national trophy: on January 29th 2014 for quarterfinals at PalaTrento (victory of the home team for 3-1), on January 11th 2015 at PalaDozza of Bologna for the finals (won by the team from Emilia-Romagna) and on February 6th again for the finals at Forum of Assago, with the victory of Modena (3-0).

The first match between the two teams was in the semifinals of Coppa Italia 2010, played in Montecatini Terme, won for 3-0 by Trento on January 30th 2010.

With next match, Modena will have a total amount of 65 played matches versus Trentino Volley, becoming the team that Trentino Volley played more against.
