Trento, December 5th 2016
The away matches of the regular season di SuperLega UnipolSai 2016/17, ended on Sunday evening with the victory of 3-2 on the court of Molfetta, gives a lot of positive recommendations to Diatec Trentino. At halfway, the Yellow-blue achieved thirty one points in the ranking list, thanks to eleven victories and only two defeats (of 1-3 on November 17th in Piacenza and of 2-3 on November 20th in Modena), that allowed Lanza and his team mates to rank 2nd , with only one point less than Cucine Lube Civitanova, the Winter champion. The statistics of the first thirteen days stress the great aptitude to block of Trentino’s team; for numbers of direct block, the Yellow-blue are ranked 4th with 119 winning blocks, only 10 less than Ravenna (leader with 129 but also with more than three played sets), with an average of 2,33 blocks per set. Between the individuals, it must be highlighted the great championship played by Simone Giannelli and Tine Urnaut: the setter from Alto Adige showed he is a five-tool player, being efficient as setter but also as blocker (29 direct points and fifth place in the fundamentals ranking list) and at service, thanks to 17 winning services which make him ranked 11th in the aceman classification, while the Slovenian spiker showed his efficiency at services (2nd for weighed average) and in the "Player as spiker" ranking list he is actually the 9th ranked. Filippo Lanza, finally, is the first scorer of the Yellow-blue, by scoring already 166 points with 50,5% in attack, 10 blocks and 16 aces. These are interesting premises for the home matches that will start on Sunday December 11th against Vibo Valentia.
