This morning, after the three days of 2015 Volleyball Market organized by Lega Volley, the calendar of the 71th championship of Superleague UnipolSai (season 2015/16) has been issued.
Diatec Trentino will begin away the defense of the league title, on Wednesday, October 28th in Monza against Vero Volley, three days later than the rest of the program of the first day because on Saturday, October 24th will play the final of the Italian Supercup against Modena. The first home game is scheduled on November 1st against Padova (like the last season but in that case it was the debut), and then the challenge of the regular season against the Emilians (remake of the championship series) will stage the sixth day (on November 22nd). The last round instead will offer the challenge against Civitanova.
Dates: The regular season will end on March 6th 2016. Even seven midweek games are planned: on October 28th (first day), on November 11th (fourth day), on November 25th (seventh day), on December 8th (tenth day), on February 3rd (the sixteenth day), on February 10th (seventeenth), on February 24th (the twentieth day). During the holiday season the championship will leave space to the activities of the National, which is why we will be on the field only on December 23rd for the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Italian Cup, that will change its formula providing for such shift a double game, involving the top eight ranked teams at the end of the first round of the regular season; the winners will enter the Final Four, which will be played on the weekend of Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th February and will mark the return of Volley Land (a two-day festival of volleyball with many side activities).
The first eight classified of the regular season will access to the  Championship Playoffs, and will face each other in the quarter-finals (best of three or five games, later will be precisely defined according to the FIVB calendar); semifinals and finals will expect instead definitely 5 games. They will begin on Wednesday, March 9th with the first race of the quarterfinals and will end on Wednesday, May 5th and on Sunday, May 15th (dates of any race 5 depending on the chosen plan).
The TV rights of the championship, finally, will still be the prerogative of RAI Sport (the contract and spaces are to be defined); also confirmed the direct stream of www.sportube.tv of all matches not televised.
