Trento, 28th June 2017

Experience, quality and technique: these are the main features that Aiden Zingel will offer to Trentino Volley in the next two seasons. Now he’s officially a player of the team from Trento and completes the roster of middle blockers at the disposal of coach Angelo Lorenzetti. He’s best zone 3 of SuperLega 2015/16 and moves to Trento to experience, after eight years, his first time in an Italian team different from Verona – the sport club that introduced him in Serie A1 in 2009 as he was not well-known in the world of volleyball. After eight championships, Zingel is one of the most complete players of his role, with his outstanding technique and important talents from a physical and tactical point of view. In the last four seasons, nobody was able to score as many blocks as him in Italy (232 blocks), and also in attack he has always registered excellent figures, with a constant average of 60%.
Zingel has won a Challenge Cup and in his palmares we can count almost two hundred presences with the Australian National Team, with whom he took part in the Olympic Games of London 2012. He has signed a contract until 30th June 2019 and he’ll be the first Australian player in the history of Trentino Volley. Aidan is going to wear number 11 shirt and will be at the disposal of the coach since the beginning of the training.
“Zingel is one of the most complete and efficient central-hitters in our SuperLega; we’re glad he decided to take part in our technical project – declared Trentino Volley’s President Diego Mosna - . Together with Eder and Kozarmenik he will build up an high-level trio of central-hitters in line with the team’s ambitions. For what concerns zone 3, we’ve chosen to count not only on physicality but also on technique and experience”.
“I strongly wanted Zingel to be part of  our team because I think he’s an high-level central-hitter: every time he has been one of my opponent I reminded my strikers to avoid to attack on his hands, as he’s always good at blocking
– added Trentino Volley’s coach Angelo Lorenzetti -. During the seasons he has played in Italy, he showed his value but I’m sure he can grow further. Now I’ve at my disposal three strong interchangeable central-hitters; for this reason, we’ll have important advantages both in matches and during trainings".

Aidan Zingel is going to make statements as player of Trentino Volley during the press conference that will be held on Friday, 30th June 2017 from 5 p.m. in the trophy room of Trentino Volley Point in via Trener 2 in Trento.
