3,991 spectators have not been disappointed by the 16th match of SuperLega between Diatec Trentino and Kioene Padova that they have followed from the stands of PalaTrento. Great volleyball is back, after four years, in the building of via Fersina on Boxing Day and guaranteed performances and emotions during the whole match, proving what a particular good choice is to play a game of regular season on December 26th. The 3-1 victory for the yellow-blue team and the conquest of the isolated second place in the ranking are two added values of the match which have been particularly appreciated by the supporters. The outside hitter Tine Urnaut devoted them his first thought after the end of the match. “This has been a beautiful night, a real celebration day for volleyball – explained the Slovenian outside hitter at Radio Dolomiti -. The audience at PalaTrento exceptionally supported us, helping us to conquer three points in a match that had started out badly. In the first set we struggled to find rhythm in the side-out and Padova took advantage of this situation building a gap, succeeding then in opposing our attempts to make up points by the half of the set thanks to its effective services. From the second set the situation changed; we managed to turn pressure into positive energy and to play better. We significantly improved blocks, defence and service too, so that the match became easier for us”. The current championship is really extraordinary – continued Tine -; I might be repetitive and monotonous but I must say it’s really balanced. The results of the match of the 16th day provided surprises: we conquered the isolated second place in the ranking not only thanks to our victory but also thanks to the home defeat of Modena against Ravenna. We can’t concentrate only on big matches; we must play well every single game, otherwise it’s easy to lose points. And we know this because it has already happened: we lost the match in Vibo Valentia maybe unexpectedly; this is the reason why on Thursday we will need a continuous and lucid performance against Latina”. To prepare at best the match on December 29th on the field of Top Volley (kick-off at 8.30 p.m. – live broadcast on Radio Dolomiti and Sportube), Diatec Trentino has started to train again this afternoon in what has been also the only training session before the yellow-blue team leaves for the region of Lazio on Wednesday afternoon. During the morning there will be a special training with the ball devoted to the individual technique.
