Tomorrow night, Wednesday, March 11th, returns the matches of the Challenge Round of 2015 CEV Cup, the second club competition in order of importance. The ENERGY TI Diatec Trentino is preparing to compete in the fourth ‘away’ match of its European season: this will take place in Belgium, in the Schiervelde Hall of Roeselare, against the hosts of the Knack, which already defeated PalaTrento by 3-2, five days ago. Kick-off starts at 8:30pm Italian time, streamed live on Radio Dolomiti.
To continue their European competition, and aim for a successful result for their international prestige, the Yellow-Blues must win the match tomorrow night with exceptional results; otherwise they risk the golden set tiebreaker (incase the victory of the Belgians were to arrive at the tie break) or knockout. The results from the matches first leg, will act as a sort of play-off for the Trentino Volley second round; Radostin Stoytchev, knows this but remains confident of his team will ."We have the winning cards in our hands,  against Roeselare, but it will be not be simple - says the Bulgarian coach  - . The game last Thursday in PalaTrento demonstrated how our opponents defended very tactically every move, a characteristic that can get us in trouble;  we could collect more points in the leg match but now we know our  opponents better, and I'm sure in Belgium we can understand their ways. We want to shine and beat this match in this competition".
The Trentino Volley coach, can count on every player at its disposal, with the exception of Thei that remained in Trento, not being able to be on the scoresheet (the CEV admits listings only twelve players and their choice has been proposed with four spikers and three setters). The Trentino Volley reached Belgium at lunchtime today, after three days of training; the weekend rest period in Super League UnipolSai has been used to prepare both technical and tactical terms, for the  one week physical, that took place in Flanders were the home game with Citta di Castello during the 23rd day of the regular season .
FOURTH TIME IN BELGIUM Tomorrow the Trentino Volley will play for the fourth time in Belgium, a country seen many times during the passed trips for the 12 Playoffs CEV Champions League in 2010, 2012 and 2014. In addition to Roeselare, and on two match occasions with Maaseik (January 31st, 2012 and January 14th, 2014), has been always good for the yellow-blue, since they came out victorious in all three circumstances (twice 3-1 and once for 3 -0). The Club of Via Trener, on that occasion, played their 79th game in the European competition, the 107th International (with a record of 88 wins and 17 defeats), going to win their 59th game outside the national borders.
ENERGY TI DIATEC TRENTINO CAN QUALIFIY FOR THE SEMI-FINAL IF... The Yellow-Blues has to pass the fourth round and win tomorrow nights match with any score in order to qualify for the semi-final; thanks to their earlier success in the first leg match 3-2, the Yellow-Blues established itself again, but they cannot tie-break in order to avoid the golden set with Roeselare, which will be played only if they win five sets from their opponents. If team Knack guarantee four sets (3-0 or 3-1) this would eliminate Yellow-blues. The regulation is in fact identical to that used in the phase of the 12th Playoffs of CEV Champions League. The Team exceeding the round will face the winner of the match between CAI Teruel and ZAKSA KÄ™dzierzyn-Koźle (which return tomorrow night to play after their ‘home’ victory against the Poles 3-0 in the first leg match); the semi-finals will take place between 24th and 28th March.
THE FORMULA AND OTHER GATHERINGS The 2015 CEV Cup provides six double shifts (round trip) matches (Round - played in November -, Eight - played in December - Quarter-finals - played in January - Challenge Round, Semifinals and Final) knockout: The team exceeding the tournaments over the two matches gets the most points, as assigned in the league: 3 for the win 3-0 or 3- 1, 2 for the tie-break, one to defeat the tie-break (golden set to 15 in the case of equal points - the same system of 12 Playoffs CEV Champions League). The Challenge Round of the qualified teams face the second worst ranked and the  third best ranked team of the seven rounds of the Main Phase of 2015 CEV Champions League, with  DenizBank entering the competition just at that last moment.
PREVIOUSLY Trentino Volley and Roeselare officially competed  three times in their history, with more positive outcome to the Yellow-Blues: in addition to the first leg (won by Yellow-blues 3-2 with partial of 25-22, 25-18, 19-25, 24-26, 15-11), statistics show two confrontations of the second round of the 2010 CEV Champions League, sebsequently won by team Stoytchev, of the next Final Four in Lodz. In both cases, Trento, acheived  3-1: February 9th in PalaTrento and 17th in Belgium, previously playing an away game against the Knack team; resulting in seven direct confrontations with the Belgian teams, including four victories matches with the Maaseik.
