On Tuesday evening at Palatrento it took place Argentina’s first training session from the Seleccion prior to the Melinda Volleyball Cup, which will be played on Thursday; in this occasion Julio Velasco released a long and interesting interview to Trentino Volley TV.

UNEXPECTED CHAMPIONSHIP."I didn’t expect that Trentino Volley would have won the last Championship but I always thought it was one of the most reliable teams because it had young good people, including our Sebastian Solé. The coming of Djuric has further reinforced it; I had never seen Mitar play opposite but I must say that he played great playoffs. Kaziyski then offered the usual contribution but beyond the individual Trento proved to be a real team, which has once again demonstrated its ability to win a championship as difficult as the Italian one. In Game 4 Modena failed to show its potential, which instead Trentino Volley did; the 3-0 was the emblem of the final championship ."
STOYTCHEV. "For me it is an honor to know that I was one of his models. When he arrived in Italy no one considered him because he didn’t have a relevant international curriculum yet, but proved with facts how much he is worth it. In Italy the coaches that make the players work out a lot are often criticized, but in the end I think that everything pays back and that in his case it happened what previously happened to me at the time of Modena. It 'clear, you don’t need to do only quantity, you must know the volleyball and from this point of view he is very prepared. The most important thing is to convince the players that you need to work hard if you want to reach certain goals."
TRENTINO VOLLEY."The victory of the last championship was the final seal for this Company, for his coach and for the players who were on the field. In the past it was known that Trento was the strongest team, forced to win: but this is what people always say on who wins. Then though, you have to actually succeed on the field and the last championship has been won by a team that wasn’t the most reliable on paper. Already to win is not easy, however, to confirm yourself is even harder, because the risk to relax even for a short time is easy: you can loose with a nothing, if you don’t train hard especially in a championship as difficult and balanced such as the Italian one. The secret of success of Trentino Volley is a sum of the various components, as happened in my time with the Panini Modena: coach, technical staff, Company, public and players. When everybody offer their contribution to win as happened here, then the victories come one after the other".
SUPERLEGA." I think that sometimes we confuse the money that circulate in a league with the same level of the league. The Italian Super League has remained one of the most difficult and beautiful tournaments in the world even when it suffered a decline from an economic standpoint. But it was an healthy downsizing: better pay less and last, rather than paying too much and disappear soon. The average level, however, has remained good and the league continues to be the most balanced. If the top of the standing playing badly, it loses and I think this is the salt of the championship, because people are always excited to go to watch matches that are never for granted".
