Trento, April 13th 2017
Trentino Diatec resumed training this afternoon. The day after the twenty-second seasonal victory at PalaTrento, the Yellow-Blues got back to work to prepare the return match of 2017 CEV Cup, which will be played on Saturday April 15th at 8.30 p.m. at Robert Grenon Salle (live on Radio Dolomiti and www.laola1.tv). In view of the return match against Tours Vb, where Lanza and his team-mates will try to win two sets to get the only still missing trophy among the titles of the Club of via Trener, the technical staff planned a training session divided in two groups: cooling down and weights for those who played on Wednesday, physical muscle-strengthening and tactical technique with ball for the rest of the team. Today’s training session is the last before the team leaves for Tours – departure scheduled for Friday morning around 7 a.m. with arrival around 12 p.m. after a bus ride to Verona and the direct flight to Tours.
It will be the fourth overall away match played in France for Trentino Volley. Last match played in France was versus Tours itself and is dated back to December 16th 2015. That was a Champions League match (defeat at the tie break) whereas the first of all (on November 11th 2008 in Beauvais – victory in three sets) represented the away historical debut overall for the Club of via Trener in CEV Champions League.
The weekend in France will be absolutely important for Massimo Colaci who in that occasion will reach 340 official played matches with Trentino Volley’s kit becoming the second overall most present player. The libero from Puglia will overcome Andrea Bari (who stopped at 339 played matches in 2013) and will try to reach the record of Emanuele Birarelli (345), who will be Colaci’s next opponent already on April 19th at PalaEvangelisti of Perugia for match 4 of the semi-finals of Play Off Scudetto Unipolsai 2017.
