After the brilliantly friendly match won versus Padova on Thursday night, Diatec Trentino is already back to training this evening to finish the preparation for the first match of the 2016/17 Unipolsai SuperLeague versus Vibo Valentia. Coach Angelo Lorenzetti will have the complete roster, which has alternated in the field in its entirety in the five sets played versus Kioene Padova.
The League debut versus Tonno Callipo Calabria at PalaTrento is nothing new for Trentino Volley: already in season 2012/13 the debut was versus Vibo Valentia.
But the memory is not pleasant at all, because the winner surprisingly was Tonno Callipo, which conquered the stadium in Via Fersina for 1-3 on October 7th 2012.
At the same time, playing in front of his home public the game valid for the first round of the regular season has become a pleasant habit for the via Trener society.
It had already happened eleven times in the past to begin the journey at PalaTrento: in the 2002/03 season (3-1 victory versus Milano), in 2004/05 (1-3 defeat versus Perugia), in 2005/06 (3-0 victory versus Padova), in 2006/07 (tie break knockout versus Taranto), in 2008/09 (victory in three sets versus Forlì), in 2009/10 (3-1 victory versus Latina), in 2010/11 (3-0 win versus Castellana Grotte), in 2011/12 (3-0 victory versus Monza), in 2012/13 (1-3 defeat versus Vibo Valentia), in 2013/14 (victory in five sets versus Latina) and in 2014/2015 (3-0 victory versus Padova).
The League debut gave Diatec Trentino a smile on nine occasions: in addition to the eight already mentioned home victories, must also reminded the success versus Monza on the first day of last season.
The one conquered in Brianza was in fact among others, the only away match won by Diatec Trentino in a debut match; all the other four matches were defeats.
