Trentino Volley is the only certainty between different schemes and adversaries. On September 24 and 25, the team will play against DHL Modena at PalaPanini and will take part for the 6th time in the last seven seasons – the 7th of all times - to the final of the Supercoppa Italiana. This time will be carried out differently: not any more as a direct match but as championship with four matches with semifinals on Saturday and finals ( also for third place) on Sunday like for the Italian Cup.
The team participations in the previous editions are linked to the matches of Firenze (0-3 with Macerata), Torino (0-3 with Cuneo), Cagliari (3-1 with Cuneo), Modena (2-3 with Macerata and 2-3 with the home team) and Trento (3-0 with Macerata), respectively for 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015 e 2013 editions. They reached two victories over five participations. Trentino Volley will brake Sisley’s record in the history of the competition the next weekend in Modena: Treviso was in fact the protagonist of five finals of Supercoppa Italiana across six seasons, from 1996 (first edition) and 2001. Del Monte® Supercoppa Italiana 2016 will be the 29th final in the history of Trentino Volley, the 20th national match after the three played against Piacenza in the playoffs pennant 2008, 2009 and 2013 (best of three, five and five matches), six matches against Cuneo (Coppa Italia 2010 and 2011, V-Day 2010 and 2011, Supercoppa Italiana 2010 and 2011), six against Macerata (V-Day 2012, Coppa Italia 2012 and 2013 and Supercoppa Italiana 2008, 2012 and 2013) and the four recent matches against Modena (Coppa Italia 2015 and 2016, Play Off 2015 and Supercoppa 2015).
